Nope. This is a separate mechanic added in Gen 6.

Its how they mega evolve. Some fully evolved pokemon have temporary mega evolutions that increase their stats and stuff like that.

I mean, they completely converted over 600 Pokemon into 3D for XY. I wouldn't be surprised if they tweaked the models and animations.

Slightly less so. I have one and its still a noticeable issue. Not that the 3d on pokemon is very good to begin with.

The problem is, unless the game is programmed to use the New 3ds Hardware, it still runs at the old 3ds's processor settings.
