Necessary addition for letting pawn move two spaces on their first move, which is a rule that actually helps speed up development because pawns have to move twice to be in range of an enemy at game start. This reduces 4 turns of just pawn moves to 2 turns, plus you can still choose to only move the one space. King's Leap was a fine rule, and replacing it with Castling just introduced a mandatory move. If you don't castle, you likely aren't playing optimally.
