This is Waffles. She started showing up on my patio a year and a half ago- I caught her eating my tomatoes, and started putting seeds out to keep my garden safe. She’s been back every morning since, (with the exception of a few months this spring when she had babies) like clockwork, and sometimes I catch her knocking on my window if I haven’t had a chance to put her breakfast out yet. I love her, so much.

She also plants me things sometimes. I gave her corn a few months back, and this is her handiwork. UPDATE: https://imgur.com/gallery/lwrSCZs

Must be from the Simpsons universe

I heard a squirrel making some chirping noises the other day, i had gone my whole life thinking they didn't make noises.

Your murder cat wants to know why you keep giving food to the other food.

I love my squirrels! They're so smart and relatively easy to train. Mine knows the sound of my car & greets me in her tree over the driveway

Your cat is about to have Waffles for breakfast

+1 for not trying to make it a pet and keeping it outside where it belongs

We had a similar situation... we sit for a meal, squirrel at the patio door waiting for peanuts. Would also steal stuff to mark hidden food

Does she leave the tomatoes alone now, though?

She absolutely still takes tomatoes, but I’m not even a little bit mad about it.

They often take tomatoes to get water in dry times. Might try giving her a water dish.

Squirrels are just tree rats with fluffy tails.

If you’re ever is boston go to boston commons park, they’ll come right up to your hand

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We have a park in my city like that, as well! They’ll sit in your lap and eat from your hand.

I'd like to pet her.

My cousins once found an injured baby squirrel. They kept her as a pet and she was adorable!

I've always wanted to pet a squirrel. Had the chance once in Manhattan and got scared. Regret it everyday.

When my dad was a kid he tried to pet a squirrel in the park... The bite went down to the bone, he almost lost the finger!

Boston commons park! They’ll come right up to you there

Found one on a Boy Scout adopt a mile, DIDNT keep it. Super mad I wasn’t allowed to by my mom. She regrets it everyday now

My dad had a pet squirrel for a while.

I used to feed squirrels at an animal rehab centre. They are the best

If it was wild it was probably for the best. My grandaunt was missing a fingertip from where a squirrel bit her exactly at the joint.

We nursed a baby squirrel back to health after we found it in the woods and it was a great pet to have. Very clingy though

I heard squirrels would wreck havoc on your house as a pet.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

What animal that isn't kept confined won't wreck your house?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, as they are still not domesticated. Same as foxes. Supposed to be fun pets but your house will suffer.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Domesticating them wouldn't mean they won't destroy your house.
