After a very long day of driving I've finally arrived in London, I'm on my way to the Embankment to watch the fireworks display at midnight, it's extra special for me as my Grandfathers ashes are inside one of the fireworks. My Grandad, Flight Lieutenant Joe Wesson served in the RAF during the second world war and after a short illness he passed away peacefully at the grand old age of 95. We had him cremated and we wondered where to scatter his ashes, I suggested that because he flew over the skies of London during the war, what could be more fitting than going up in one of tonights fireworks. I contacted the organisers and for a small fee, I sent off his ashes and he'll now be part of tonights display.
I didn't think I was going to make it today, I'd only got twenty minutes into my journey when I realised I'd got a flat tyre, and being new years eve, all the garages were now closed. There I was, parked on a country lane struggling to change over to the spare when all of a sudden, I head a little squeak...'Can I help?' I looked around and there was a little hamster talking to me. I explained my predicament and he said no problem, we can help. Then all of a sudden, hundreds of little hamsters appeared and started to change my tyre.
'I'm Mr Fuzzywinks' said the hamster, 'Come with me and I'll give you a tour of our home'. I followed him down the side of an hedge, and I couldn't believe what I saw, hundreds of hamsters, everywhere! He told me I was in luck as they were just rehearsing their new play. There was a wooden stage, and on it were lots of hamsters performing the musical, 'The King and I', based on Margaret Landon's novel, Anna and the King of Siam, which is in turn derived from the memoirs of Anna Leonowens, governess to the children of King Mongkut of Siam in the early 1860s.
It was really good to be fair, they had decent voices for hamsters. Mr Fuzzywinks went on to tell me that the leads were always played by Sparkle and Topsy, he said they'd struggled a bit recently as the hamster playing Tuptim had been taken ill, so a hamster called Nibbles had been given the role. I told him I couldn't tell Nibbles was the stand in, it all seemed very professional. They showed great attention to detail, they even had little baby hamsters playing the King's children. Mr Fuzzywinks went on to explain how he'd hoped the production might transfer to the West End, and how they were already thinking about next years play, they wanted to give 'Wicked' a try.
I shed a tear at the end when King Mongkut passed away and I applauded them with all my heart, all things considered, it really was marvellous! Mr Fuzzywinks led me back to my car, and the tyre was changed, all done! I thanked him and as I drove off to towards London, I saw hundreds of hamsters waving at me in my rear view mirror. Happy new year everybody! Here's to a great 2020!

When I die, I don't want to be in a firework ..I want to be secretly sprinkled over various salad bars and buffets or put in pepper shakers
MrBoopleSnootFluffkins
I hear that!

....those guys flying over London in those days were not in the RAF but in the Luftwaffe. Did we just discover a long kept terrible secret?
CgnCalling
Secret? You should investigate this. Maybe they were some peculiarities about your grand dad that in afterthought would be explained by him
CgnCalling
Being a Leutnant of the Luftwaffe...
