Honestly, just watch a YouTube guide. That's what I did. After one video, I could reliably do it just under two minutes.

TL;DR, rearranged all square stickers to one color per side.

Remember, the center cubes on each side do not move relative to each other. The Blue center cube means that is the "Blue side".

It takes a week to learn the handful of turns you repeat to solve it - you aren't solving it "correctly" per se but its a near parlor trick

Solve top 2 layers simultaneously, orientation of last layer, and then permutation of last layer.

An algorithm is a sequence of instructions, designed to solve a problem. Hence, the procedure of solving the cube can be called that.
