Both send the CIA and the military around the world to crush any attempt of resistance to their empire. Both are at the service of the rich business owners before any other social class. They use social issues to divide and conquer. While the bottom 50% of the population sweats for a meager 2.5% of the wealth, the mega rich have orgies on their yachts and diddle kids on their private islands, and that doesn't change depending on which of the two parties are in power.
Democrats have a decidedly more fair tax policy. Every country exerts its influence abroad, we just (until recently) have been the most powerful country in the post-WWII era. Dems are unquestionably on the right side of all social issues. You are just wrong and deluded about everything.
Unfortunately the people in charge currently would have to make the change, and they wont do it because it would mean they would lose power. If only democrat voters try to force their elected officials to change then republicans would win because they wont do anything to disrupt their power...
this won't end until you SEVERELY limit the money in the political campaigns. And remove gerrymandering, and make voting mandatory (because there's an humongous amount of pathetic pieces of shit who don't vote)
We will have a 2 party system until we get rid of first past the post voting. If you want viable third parties, first get people who support ranked choice etc through major party primaries and into office.
There are major constitutional changes that would need to be made to prevent a bipartisan government. I'd love to see it, but it's not going to happen anytime soon
Third parties have barely cracked into local elections. The germinal foundation of our constitution as a representative democracy inherently creates a bipartisan government by default whether it's the presidency or your local dog catcher.

We need ranked-choice voting. As far as I know, only one party has tried to outlaw it where it's been implemented for some reason...

"Both sides" is the dumbest sentiment on the internet. So, congrats for that, I guess.

Like I always say the democratic party is a piece of shit but the republican party is worse.

Can't wait for the blue right wingers to get into power

Maybe, just maybe this latest cluster-fuck will end the 2-party system of dysfunctional bullshit?
ImJustHereAtThisPoint
Yeah they're being pretty blatant. But they're just consolidate to 1 party over allowing dissenting opinions

AllegedlyUncleTonton

In 2016 I told a republican Trump would destroy the republican party. He laughed at me. I saw the future in that laugh. A fucking nightmare of stupid.
wandermanspacebot
The party is far from destroyed though. Trump won the popular vote just two years ago.

Because local elections are run first past the post. You know, that thing I said? Remember?
