*Front page edit, send cabbages!

Are we all missing the point here? We need TLA to fight back against Resident Evil and give us the real Tall Lady we all deserve with Kyoshi

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know this is true but can you send me a source? i want to share this with others

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Can we ignore the movie please? Please?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More Avatar? Fuck yeah. Let's go!!!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm conflicted. On the one hand, more Avatar is wonderful. But on the other hand, "Avatar Cinematic Universe." *shudder.*

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True…

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 215 Dislikes 1

My question is this: who would be able to bend Plasma?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kyoshi can bend all. She’s the only Tall Lady for me.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That would likely be a fire variation similar to lightning bending. Air would be unlikely but not impossible

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After all the bitching the internet did over Korra after season 1, I am surprised there would be that many people excited.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Honestly, I loved TLA but LoK wasn't my cup of tea. Started it 3 times and never finished it. Not too excited about this new one

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was so-so on LoK at first (don't care for love triangles or a new big bad every season) , but it grew on my; now I love it deeply; esp.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

later seasons... Wow, some gut punches (sad&happy) there. But, to each their own!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Maybe it's just because I hated Korra. Aang managed to have character development without starting out shitty

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ouch. You hated her?! Why?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

5 years ago | Likes 232 Dislikes 1

THEN WHY THE FUCK DIDNT YOU SAY SO??

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

He's stopped being so polite, hasn't he?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tenzin was far and away one of the best parts of LoK.

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

J.K. Simmons, so...

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

God, in "Invincible" he was _terrifying_.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I enjoyed Avatar and loved Korra but not sure what they could do with it other than making a prequel or set it in more modern times....

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

or continue the story of either Aang or Korra. Neither sound particularly appealing.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They could do what Naruto did and follow Aang's son bAang

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Though a series involving regular benders that don't involve major world events could be cool.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it's got more Aang, he's fine. Cabbage Corp was a thing in Korea.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

these have to be better than the live action netflix adaptation....right?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want to see Book 4 that covers the founding of Republic City and all that interim stuff they have in the comics.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Noooooooooooooooooooooo

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I enjoy the comics. But they are not very well written.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah, that's what I encountered as well. That's why I'd love to see them made better.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I rather they go with a following story, because the comic is canon. Rewritting stories leave a bad taste.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean, that's what I initially meant anyway. Basically I'd love a more adult oriented one that has them as adults.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eh after the meh outing that was most of Korra and the rushed world building of Dragon Prince S2, I am cautious.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still remember watching Nickelodeon as a kid watching the countdown to the comet counter tick down for the finale.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hope not they advance further in technology. I very much like the rural/traditional themes

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not expecting anything good.

5 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 5

Here’s hoping we get some giant lady action with some Kyoshi shorts or something!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

The Kyoshi books are really good!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Since it’s the original creators, I am. Netflix’s version I’m dubious but hopeful for.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Only two of the creators. The two who made Korea... So expectations low.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Personally I liked LoK, but wouldnt hesitate to agree the original was far better. Not bad for a sequel though

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Korra not Korea

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Speak for yourself. Many Avatar fans enjoyed LoK as well.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

No crap I'm speaking for myself.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

He pretty explicitly said "I'm."

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Source please :( I can't find it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great a new way to fuck it up

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Give Toph a mini series

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I am still waiting for "Adventures of Momo", which will explain to us where he got all the stuff from when he was supposed to bring water.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I doubt it. Original head writer and co-executive producer is off doing The Dragon Prince.

5 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 10

Maybe both shows are in the same universe/same world, just on two different continents.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

The VA for sokka does the voice for the MC (can't remember the name) in Dragon Prince, they even make a boomerang joke.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Multiple, if iirc

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dragon Prince is awesome though so I am ok otherwise

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Because of course no one would ever continue a franchise without one of its founders. <.< >.> <.<

So they only got a order for season 4 in 2020. Consider it 2+ years for a season to be produced, yes, ofcourse you don't have a date yet.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They got renewed for 3 more seasons actually. Current estimate is s4 in October or November

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They got a full series order, yes, but they only got that order in 2020. July. That's when they started working on S4. And 15 months is....

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are still working on the show. And with Corona, it means you may very well not see a new episode until 2024.

:(

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't something happen in 2020 that would say... make creating a show difficult and... I don't know... push back release dates?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh I really thought they abandoned it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

didnt the origional writers all leave due to the crap the studio was pulling?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Netflix is making a live action show they were involved in and left. This is a DIFFERENT thing that will make animated stuff.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

And in case you had hopes for Netflix Avatar regardless:

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've seen that circulate a few times already, but I haven't actually seen or been able to find a source for it? It's all "allegedly" and 1/

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"supposedly", so I wouldn't trust it until I can see/find confirmation for it. Not that I'd put it past Netflix, mind you, but...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ew, wtf? This sounds worse than Shyamalan's version.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ya that sounds utterly atrocious

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

There's no avatar left in here bar the names. Why not just make a different show if it was gonna be this?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Will we see the next element in the cycle? Time for an Earth Kingdom Avatar? Probably another timeskip? Avatar meets Internet?

5 years ago | Likes 339 Dislikes 4

Wait. I thought Korra was after Aang?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. Therefore earth. The cycle is air>water>earth>fire

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm I wonder too. A ww2 styled dilemma, 50's nuclear age, or something like that. Go fallout bender.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Early terraforming era, taking place on Mars and seeing how the Avatar can deal with a world without the spirits/ecosystem.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They specify "The Last Airbender", so likely a continuation of the Gaang. There's a ton of supplementary material.

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

They just say it's in the same universe as TLA

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So far, within the context of Avatar, content is pretty explicitly split up between TLA and LoK. Otherwise it's just the "Avatar universe".

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then the next one would have to be the Avatar in Space! Your firebending does nothing in a vacuum!

5 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Not necessarily space, but a cosmic threat would be an interesting idea, considering they already did spritual

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wonder, would other planets' moons empower waterbenders, or is it just their homeworld's moon?

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Multiple moons means extremely powerful waterbenders? Maybe the planet is the moon of a gas giant and the waterbenders are uber powerful?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Assuming the mass of the nearby planetary body is what matters...

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sozin’s comet redux but this time they just nuke the comet

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or, assuming its more symbolic than scientific, a water giant instead of a gas giant would be a cool waterbender catalyst.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kyoshi murdering people

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nah go back in time

5 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 2

Avatar Kyoshi for the win.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

We already had that story, though. But yes, Kyoshi content would be awesome, I just hope it won't be the same story as the Kyoshi novels

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

since an animated version would basically retcon those awesome books.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

.... did... did he just tied a hand grenade to his vest by the PIN!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup. You have to squeeze the handle to release the pin. Still, in the Corps we used pouches. Being made by the lowest bidder and all.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We did have a two-episode flashback to the first Avatar. Could do maybe the first inherited Avatar after Wan.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I know they retconned the origin of the Avatar in LOK, but I liked that story a lot.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Out of both shows, that 2 episode flashback was my most favorite part

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wish they gave Wan more than 2 episodes. Korra was great but I want Wan's story inmore detail. Regardless I'm gonna watch what they make.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Literally any of the 100s of avatars that existed

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Avatar Kiyoshi would be good. We had pacifist Aang, inexperienced Korra, show us kickass Kiyoshi as our first Earth Avatar main character.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Kyoshi wasn't kickass from the start though, she struggled

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Odds are it won’t be Kyoshi, Kuruk or Yangchen, since all three have been explored in the comics (with the last 2 in a lesser extent)

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I don't know, Kyoshi's story has been told in great detail in the Kyoshi novels. Which I absolutely love, by the way.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here’s all the stories I would love to see: Avatar in the modern world. An older avatar (so we get to see what a long time master is like) 1

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Personally I want to see a series about Toph and Sokka just doing their jobs and being bros, not world saving events. Just stopping a gang

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Literally anything because I love this show

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Have you read the Kyoshi novels?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They're so good ! I hope there will be more novels like these in the future

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I feel like tenzin was playing that “old ang” part

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tenzin wasn't anything like Ang though. In fact, there was a whole subplot abt how NOT like ang he was.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah but I want an older, fully realized avatar putting years of training to the test. Though that would be hard to make into a good story

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a Superman type of story. All the power and has to hold back.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FC Lee wrote two books in collaboration w creators about kyoshi's origin story. :)

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nah, the world is destroyed after an avatar discovers the uranium element and the cycle starts over

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of an old OOTS comic where some elementalist summons an Osmium Elemental, to the outrage of the traditional wizard.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe we'll finally find out who boned Toph and how she ended up a swamp witch

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So THAT’s The Boulder’s real name!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Alright, but I still want to know how she went from running a Metal bending dojo to living in a swamp

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The next one is a sand bender named gengi I believe so earth.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My group maintains that Korra was planned as a two-generation skip and she was supposed to be an Earthbender but got pushed into Water 1/

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That even works for her stubborn personality.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when they decided to scale back the timejump. Makes a lot more sense; her troubles with Air, the technology jumps, 2/

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

a giant fricking city that wasn't there before. But it would have been harder to re-use familiar characters, so...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

LoK Spoiler: But didn't Korra end the Avatar cycle at the end of LoK? Or did I miss something? Isn't there no more avatars after her

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

She did end the avatar cycle, but she started a new one by rejoining with raava

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

If the avatar cycle was truly broken, either she would be dead or she would not have power over all 4 elements.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

iirc she didn't end the cycle, just ended all possible connection with past avatars.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well, I would say she did a hard reboot. It ended for sure. But she also restarted it too.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As much as I enjoyed LoK the writing was pretty wishwashy, so any potential advancement could easily be retconned by new lore

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Nickelodeon kinda screwed them that's why. They should be free to do what they want now, I hope to see Korra and Asami again.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I heard that's why they basically shoved all of the plot twists into the last 90 seconds of the 4th season

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Their production schedule was often unknown so the pacd was uneven, and yeah that was the best they could do to show Asami + Korra together

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd love to see the new avatar be born a street kid and avoid the lotus so we see the world from a ground up view the whole way.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I bet we will see the story about finding zukos mom

5 years ago | Likes 182 Dislikes 0

Again? Honestly I'd rather see a new story, but I'd love any new content so I'd still love an animated version of the Ursa story

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry to inform you: It will be a high school AU coming of age story set in, probably, our world.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This based on the updated character descriptions for the series. Aang has adoptive parents and goes to school.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The comics already showed this. I was not a fan of the story, but I know others were.

5 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

Can still be animated tho

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Comics? There are comics? What are they so I may enjoy.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Comics are bound stories told via pictures and character dialogue with occasional narration.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh wow book with pictures! What will they think of next!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are several trilogies and I love them! The first is 'The promise': about post-war tension between the Earth and Fire nations. Then:

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Imgur's Legend of Korra Defense Force convinced me to watch the show. I was 38 and enjoyed every second of it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm so jealous you get to watch it for the first time!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was 43 when I saw it for the first time. I'm 44 now.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watched it at 41 and loved it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Started watching as a kid and my 40 some y.o. dad immediately got hooked while walking by the TV and quickly deemed it the best cartoon ever

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You really don't need to be a kid to enjoy it

5 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Watched it when it first came out in 2005 with my then young kids - just re-watched it now with my now grown kids! Worth it!!

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

People widely agree that that's the best age to enjoy the mix of adult themes and young humour. Just Google Avatar rule 34 to read more

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I watched it for the first time at 43 years old, and loved it!

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I watched it a 44. Subjected the kids to it. Luke warm reaction. Philistines.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I told a friend about it when it was originally on, and got laughed at. He watched it with his kids and apologized - loved it!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know the feeling. Lol. It's just a great balance of taking itself seriously and being silly.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I watched it at 60 last year. I win.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same ... About five years ago. Watched it again with my kids like a year ago. Also, currently going through our third run of Adventure Time

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For the first time, so far!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You’re in for a treat, when you’re done, get the comics that start right where the show ends, you won’t regret it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m showing to my wife who is 31. She actually puts her phone down to watch!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Animation is a medium. Not just for kids. ATLAB happens to be for everyone, children included.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watched it for the first time when I was 30, have rewatched it many times since… I’m now 40

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder if I will lose some of the magic if I hold out until this new thing is completed..

If you mean whether or not to not watch avatar until this thing is done. Just watch it. Between ATLA and Korra may take a while. Worth it.
