Tom holland is my favoite, closest to the comics i'd say so far. Tobey wasnt bad in itself, but far from being quite as good as tom holland

Let's see how they deal with that in Spiderman 3!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's awesome!!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like that in Toby's Spiderman he had webbing his body produced, but I also like the technology around creating web shooters.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So literally the only truly spider-like ability he has is tech in most iterations? That's rather dumb even for comics. lol

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Toby is the only spidey for me. Prolly since I grew up watching him as spiderman

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I didn’t care for either of the earlier ones, but they were better than the live action TV series....

51 downvotes at time of this posting. THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And the people are wrong. The only reason people like those movies is the nostalgia

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Your point? Let's be real here, this applies to a lot of far worse movies than Maguire's Spiderman.

5 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

To be fair, MCU Spiderman did later get a full-on suit with built in web shooters made for him by Stark.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that show of Garfield even from Amazing Spider-Man? Looks like Social Network.

He'll always be my first spider-man

It cool that they will be in spider man 3

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait, really? The new spider-men need web shooting devices? Did he not get bit by a radioactive spider in the new ones???

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

OG Spidey had to build a web shooter. The bite gave him super human physical attributes, wall climbing and the spidey sense.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I need to brush up on my comic lore. Plenty of time over christmas break!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pretty much only the OG film Spider-Man doesn't need web shooters. Even in the comics he makes gadgets and tech.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Arent there like 2 different vwraions of spiderman, one called spiderman who is like toby and amazing spiderman who makes canisters?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's a lot of variations of spiderman. As with all comic book heroes

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah and the multiverse and shit creates different timelines and what have you too

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Garfield's Spidey is much closer to the original comics. That version can only make organic webs while wearing the Symbiote (Venom) costume.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I kiked garfield as spiderman, great movies, like hollands and mchuires. Id prefer they stay close to the comics

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes I love the full on genetic mutation instead of the half ass web shooters

5 years ago | Likes 1002 Dislikes 23

Peter: gonna web you good
Me : what
Peter: what

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love the homemade webshooters. Peter is a genius with limited resources. Usually...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Considering that he could patent the 1hr-to-complete-dissolving adhesive and sell it to 3M for a few hundred million dollars.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The reason they were tech instead of a mutation in the first place was because you couldn't show bodily fluids in comics at the time.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah but like, it would mean he'd be shooting webs out of his ass.

5 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 9

Did he stutter???

5 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

it's all about the tubing built into the suit. Well, that and good pressure levels.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That could be a side effect, we really don't know and it would be rude to assume he doesn't

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With great power comes great responsibility

5 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Which would also allow him to defeat Ant-Man if it came down to it

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go on...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It always seemed kinda forced to me, like "I've got spider powers so guess I have to build gadgets to shoot web and no other gadgets"

5 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

That's the big weakness in the "he's a super genius!" thing for me. He's invented like one thing, conveniently related to his power set.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just make it organic and be done with it.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's the movies, in the comics he made countless gadgets. Trackers, tracers, a car, gliders, web bombs, static webs, armor, etc.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Spider glider, you say?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the comics, he developed the idea for the Web Shooters LONG before he was Spider Man. Flash Gordon knocked Aunt May down while on 1/

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

his skateboard and ran off, while Peter thought if there was some way he could reach out and grab him, which inspired him to design them.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Also, the trigger for it was designed to ONLY discharge with the middle and ring finger, so it didn't go off when he made a fist.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

*Flash Thompson; Gave me a good chuckle, though, so thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

FLASH! AH AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah it feels better to just have the web shooting be a part of him instead of something anyone could theoretically do.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I remember reading a comic when I was a kid where Parker had to drink a solution to use his web. I can't remember much about it.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It made a LOT more sense in context. I've always preferred that to a HS kid inventing super-advanced tech, honestly.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm in between, sometimes it was a fun moment when he ran out and had to improvise but i sure love how he could use organic web in other way

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. I know but the comics, and he’s a genius, etc. I still like it more when it comes straight from his arm.

5 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 1

Meh. Who isn't in those comics? I prefer it be organic. If it's tech, others can build copies of it. Tech is almost always less special.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well there was a time during the comics when he had organic web shooters. I think it happened around the time the first movie came out.

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Yes. They had to do some weird stuff to Petey to make it work.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was also a time when he had bone claws. That was also a bad idea

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wasn't it he was captured and flown to south america when it was cut out. I want to say I read it in a comic book with Carnage.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ultimate universe spiderman was organic and for a while after the man spider arc in the main verse he had organic but it faded eventually.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

After one more day i think its when it went back to shooters

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Going organic was a studio decision to cut out a whole section of movie of Perter making them. It was a short cut.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Changing from web shooters to organic in comics was done as logically as possible: he gave birth to himself and the original died.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The writers and I seem to have very different ideas of "logically as possible"

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I like the ability to customize the mechanical shooters. With the bio ones, he has one setting. Admittedly, no movie has explored that yet

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Customizing the shooters? Both Homecoming and the 2nd Andrew Garfield had modified webshooters.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

The showed him shooting "web balls" so there has been some variation.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Didn't far from home touch on him making different web blasts?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

He is talking about the Sam Raimi movies where the web shooters are biological rather than mechanical gizmo's.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the second mcu spiderman movie he has different webs to pick from for his webshooter? Electric etc.. or is that not what you mean?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They have, briefly. The suit AI in Homecoming walked him through all sorts of different shooter settings for his webs. It’s gotta be my fav.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Sadly Peter didn't invent them, though. Peter is supposed to be at least as smart as Tony, but the recent movies don't really show that.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

With Tony gone they've set him up to grow in to that mantle if they do it right.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but they really needed to feature his super-intelligence before now. He didn't even hack his own suit, his friend did that.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s more logical that he’d mutate them rather than suddenly knowing the recipe to make them

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I like when the web shooters break. So cool to see Spidey think on his feet without them.

5 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 3

Satan ex machina.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, same thing happens with organic when he runs out of fluid in his glands. Neither has an infinite supply so they can both "break."

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not like he'd need shooters for that to happen though, it's not like biological web production is limitless.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I guess toby did run out after feeling stressed out.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a neat idea, for sure, but, from a storytelling perspective, I think technological web shooters are better. It allows him to run out,

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

adding suspense, but it also allows him to modify them, adding features to the shooters or improving the chemical formula of the web fluid.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It feels more limitless somehow. And the web shooters break as often as a Star Trek teleporter

5 years ago | Likes 249 Dislikes 2

I love it. They break/run out as often as the plot demands. More narrative possibilities; you can always come up with an excuse to have them

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They run out a lot, but it’s usually just to remind people he’s not a full on spider... anymore...

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It just makes the whole idea more awesome , a full mutation with all the fixings. Like if I win the lottery I want the whole shebang

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So, not *that* often?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Main reason transporters break is because it wouldn't make narrative tension if it could be used... Which really weakens the immersion.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, problems would have to be much more complex, with fine, abstract lines between instant death and trivially easy success.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Limitless? I applaude your production volume. It would be disapointing if spidermen could only swing 5 times in 24hours without running dry

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Just say it’s magic, or one of the other things the writers are too lazy to explain

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can swing at LEAST 8 times a day!

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

That would add a whole new dynamic to his character, like, he'd hafta build his own spiderman-infrastructure

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

, it'd be way creepier when he just has huge spider webs everywhere, ready to store villains at a moments notice

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And chug a lot of water/pineapple juice to keep his fluids up

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yeah that honestly kinda annoyed me how they had to make web shooters. Like what’s the point of being bitten by the spider then...

5 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 6

In the comics he orginally was a genius and only for the reflexes, climbing walls, super strength is what he got from the spider.

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

super speed and jumping too. He could run like 100mph

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

how did the spidey sense get left out of these lists

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's Italian Spiderman

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

He makes a dope pizza *Italian hand thing*

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Spins the crust - any size, Got to make those pizza pies, hey there ! Italian Spider Man.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

my b it's actually like 200-250mph but in some comics he even runs the speed of sound

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
