Enough already, impeach the moron!

AND they had concerns about the financing of terrorism.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But why would such an honest man need to launder money?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s was?!

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It would have been nice of Cap One to inform the FBI, non? But the rich protect the rich, again. And again.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The story is true except they aren’t the first. Deutsche Bank also flagged Trump Organisation’s money laundering years ago.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Called it

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't worry they all have prepared sanitized headlines that make it seem like a nothing-burger in case it gets traction or blows up... "Capital One Disagrees With Trump Over Nature Of Accounts" or some whitewashing shit like that... the headlines should read "Trump's Criminal Enterprise Caught Committing Yet Another Huge Financial Crime", but no, they'll all make it sound like a silly misunderstanding instead another Felony.

C1: it's fraud n' shit
Trump: it's a little oopsy woopsy that everybody makes so don't be mad

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Understanding there has been no conviction, be nice if an added line said "will there be an investigation into this finding?"

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's that word "should" again. Seems like what we all think needs to happen differs from what is happening quite a lot.

The revolution will not be televised

Al Capone was imprisoned for tax evasion, correct? There must be something that will stick.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If ever there was proof that the devil exists and buys souls, it's that Trump can do whatever the fuck he wants, from money laundering to running scam businesses to raping children, and suffers no consequences.

1 month ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

If ever there was proof that god isn't all-powerful, all-knowing and all-caring, it's that Trump [copy paste trump behavior]

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This would be an outrage to a society that didn't worship money

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it should be much bigger news but there's nothing surprising about it. it's just another facet of the Crime Family running America at the current time.

but, really, 300+ accounts? what else are you doing with 300+ accounts except pushing the money around and around so its actual origin gets lost in the shuffle. and the won't be named trump-1, trump-2, ..., trump-300. they'll all have special business names to make them look like independent businesses.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Capital One also stated that it was because of potential fraud and funding of terrorists

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It SHOULD be big news but - and I need you all to FULLY understand this - his worshippers DO. NOT. CARE. He was right about one thing. He could shoot someone in the middle of the street and nothing would happen. ....I call hacks.

Remember, he’s been impeached twice already. His sycophantic Senators in the GOP refused to convict.🤷🏾‍♂️

I was quite pleased to see that USA Today ran this two days in a row on their online version, with a tagline that they were flagged during a money laundering review.

On a scale of one to ten - one being his insistence that the reflecting pool was vandalized and ten his being a convicted felon - where would you rate trump's money laundering?

1 month ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

7, I’d say three but massive white collar crime that collapses the economy actually gets followed up on sometimes. So maybe it’ll collectively you decided that it is bad.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More laundry than Whirlpool, probably 12

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Considering that the reflecting pool redo was quite possibly also a money-laundering scheme he set up for his felon contractor friend, it's all a drop in the bucket compared to the pedophilia and election fraud

time travel

Organisation and the willingness to put lives on the line for the freedom and democracy America always pretended to care about. Until action occurs, nothing will change.

honestly? for Dems to quit being doormats for criminals. & now, America is screwed for 50 years 'cause guess what? Supreme Court judges are Republicans/conservatives thanks to GOP/Trump

If trump bent a 10 year old girl and anally raped her on the Resolute Desk, Evangelicals would take that as a sign from God He is cool with that.

You can vote your way into fascism, but you always end up having to shoot your way out. Every time.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guess that rules out Americans.

Looks like it.

You basically have to shame republicans into not existing anymore. But they're ok with raping kids, so shaming them is not going to not work out. You'll need some other method to remove them.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Time

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually voting.

1 month ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

We'll need to be a little more intensity than just a vote to purge the systems that let this happen. We need to demand accountability from our government, and loudly

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

You're in this shit because people didn't vote and accepted fascism for the USA. I know it's a lot to ask of Americans to actually vote but I believe in you, you can do it. THEN you can demand accountability and realise that you fucked up in 2016 to the point where Trump is immune. Good job, you fucked yourselves twice.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

They think the government should have auto-regulated itself. I don't know what to think anymore. At this point I think Americans are fucking dumb... They want democracy, but they want it automated with an anti-evil system, idk how they imagine it works... "[...] to purge the systems that let this happen."

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Okay, elections are in November. What do you want us to do until then?

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Vote in primaries, help out with their campaigns, run for office... Anything you can do.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Badger your representatives about accountability

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Voting is the beginning. The bare-minimum. A simple, unremarkable, and expected duty, no different from paying your taxes or brushing your teeth. But voting is no longer enough because Democracy itself is compromised, and it will take more than voting to not only start righting some of these wrongs, but building something actually worth being proud of.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Biden won in 2020 because people voted, Trump won in 2024 because people did not. This is REALLY fucking simple, how about you try it?

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I vote every year, in every local, state, and federal election. I'm just not operating under any delusion that voting is some sort of panacea for the diseased, rotten state we find ourselves in. You are a fool if you think voting will change the status quo in America in any meaningful way in of itself.

If you are from the US? Rich people fearing that YOU will do something that will make them personally pay the price if they don't stop.

Since the reaction to "ice publicly executing protesters on camera" was some social media posts, peaceful protests, and strongly worded letters...

I'd say the US is fucking doomed until those who complain online stop fenty folding in the corner and do something.

not gonna lie...
had to look that up.
seems so obvious now

The US still hopes we can vote our way out of this.
Italy had to starve before they killed Mussolini.
Berlin had to be captured before Hitler became An Hero.
And Franco lived a long fascist life and died from illness at 82.

America is not yet starving. You’re not going to see Trump get Mussolinied soon.
But Trump is a decrepit old man and will be 82 in 2028.
We’re hoping he gets Francoed.

I dunno, I question if you won't end up with (as Hitchen's put it) a Necrocracy.

Declare Trump president for life, he dies, they just don't say anything and keep going.

The trial run with Mitch is going quite well for them.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I bet if Trump kicks it before 2027, they’re going to AI puppet his likeness until at least January 21st

Rally point is your house then?

They're Canadian, so no. They're just gonna scream at us to do something very helpfully. Nevermind that organization is a skill most of us never learned and are still actively trying to learn and put into practice in real time while our friends and neighbors get disappeared at gunpoint.

Their role in this is to tell Anne Frank to get out of her attic and go shoot some Nazis.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

There's plenty you can do. You aren't hiding in an attic. I've already been banned from reddit for making these lists, how about you go defend your democracy instead of being mad at people

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

See my other responses, I am doing things. I'm also trying to help others learn how to do things too. We're still a small group in my area, but not a single one of us joined because some extranational jerk called them a coward.

Again, we're not a monolith. Sure, many of us can be doing more, but there are those of us who are doing everything we can with what we have.

Y'all can kick us while we're down as much as you like, it won't help, and it won't make you feel any better either.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How'd waiting peacefully go for Anne Frank again?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

"Anne Frank deserved it for not resisting hard enough" is definitely one of the takes of all time.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh. I didn't realize @painwright was being a haughty armchair general with zero skin in the game.

"Come on, do a Civil War already" isn't a very neighborly take.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

You country is currently funding politicians in Canada (foreign election interference is illegal), civil division seeking to separate Alberta (because oil), breaking free trade agreements, threatening to annex Canada, and betraying NATO allies to Russia among others.

My neighbourly take is: Civil disobedience isn't civil war you willing cuck. Grow a set, and get your shit in order you spineless coward.

(Also nice stalking me, your alt accounts are obv as fuck because... you are a coward.)

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

The guy blocked me. I guess it was too much to ask for them to see us as human beings.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

To be fair, they're just as frightened and angry as we are, the president did in fact threaten their country and has launched hostilities against others. It's a reasonable fear of a situation they have no control over. What they can control is their conduct online with people who should be their ideological allies, and so that's where they lash out.

It's not victim-blaming to them because they don't see us as victims. Just a monolithic state exhibiting the goomba fallacy.
