That one time my stuff was stolen

Burglary at it's finest

Our house was broken into on Friday afternoon (what a way to start the weekend, am I right?!?). I'm posting it here to ask if people could keep an eye out AND to warn everyone I can! We rent a house in an alright area in Phoenix, family-friendly, newer houses, etc. My boyfriend came home from work to find our front window busted, both our front and back door open and our house a wreck.

It was awful. They stole both of our TVs, both of our PS3s, both of our laptops, both of our 3DS's, his PS4, my N64 and sega Genesis games, my Kindle, and all of his football jerseys. They cleaned us out. They were so ruthless that our living room tv's HDMI cable was torn where they ripped it out of the TV. Why?!?

His room was equally destroyed. They flipped over every drawer/shelf they could to get to electronics. We were lucky and they didn't take our social security cards or other important paperwork but I feel so victimized

A trail

They knew they weren't going to get caught either, they didn't mind leaving tracks through our backyard and the police couldn't do anything with them. Unfortunately, we didn't have renters insurance this year (we moved to AZ from the Midwest and it slipped our minds once we found somewhere to live). Of course the first year we've gone without it is when we need it. And in terms of our lease, we are responsible for fixing the window as well since it's not the landlord's fault. Pro tip: ALWAYS get renters insurance!

MY laptop

It has driven me crazy all weekend knowing that there is a huge chance these people are going to get away with this. So I'm reaching out to the imgur community in hopes that someone might see one of these things and recognize it... And to talk someone into getting renter's insurance if they're on the fence about it.

MY 3ds

The above picture is my laptop, a Lenovo ideapad with a pikachu decal on it. My boyfriend's laptop is a 2008-2009 MacBook Pro with a nightmare before Christmas decal. This picture is 3ds xl, the pink one with another pikachu decal. My boyfriend's is a red 3ds xl with a Japanese symbol decal on the front.

MY kindle

Luckily we are box hoarders and kept almost every box so we were able to give the police the serial numbers for every thing besides the MacBook because they took that box. We've contacted Nintendo, PlayStation, and Apple to freeze our accounts and monitor our systems for connection attempts. We've changed all of our passwords for every login imaginable. I'm grateful that our animals (2 cats and a puppy) weren't harmed and did not run away. We are so lucky for that. But walking around this house makes me sick. It makes me sick because I worked hard for everything I own. I spent time deciding on what I wanted to buy and why. And someone felt that they had a right to just walk into my house and take it. They didn't care what they ruined, they felt that they deserved this stuff more than me. The worst one is my boyfriend's jerseys and our laptops. Obviously we all have stuff, pictures, music, documents, on our computers that can't be replaced so that's a given. But my bf collects jerseys. He had 10 years worth of jerseys just taken from him. Some of them were limited editions, items you can't just buy anymore. Why? How could you do something like this? It's horrible. Anyways, if you'd like to keep an eye out for our stuff I'd be elated to get PMs about it. I've been wasting my life away on the internet seeing if our stuff is being sold with no luck.
