Butter is literally just a byproduct of milk fats. Margarine is a vegetable oil based alternative. Ants, of course, would prefer butter because it's literally just churned spoiled milk (not spoiled in the same way you make yogurt & cheese).
Between the two, Butter is ironically worse for your health. Cause the fat from the dairy ends up as bad chlorestrol, while vegetable oil is largely not digested by your body and is instead passed through your digestive tract.

Neither is entirely healthy, and both have different uses for cooking. But all this "margarine is worse than butter" nonsense spread on the internet is literally BS. Look into nutritional studies, and you'll learn that fatty dairy products are TERRIBLE for your health in general. It's why you really shouldn't even drink 3% milk regularly.

Sure, but proportions also come into play. From some quick googling margarine may have up to 2x as much oleic acid as butter does, and if they're combined in different ways ants may not notice it in one compound vs another.

But apparently not well enough because an hour later I come back to my "clean" pot, and there's a bit of broth residue around the handles, and the Ants had already found it!! ...at this point, it's usually not self-censorship so much as it's corporations censoring speech and then people who want to use those platforms needing to comply with the (automated) censorship standards or be banned. In case you haven't noticed, certain words in posts on social media these days have to be censored or the AI moderation on those sites either hides it from public view or shadow bans the poster.

I've had it happen to me on Imgur a few times. They shadow banned certain words and if your post contained them it wouldn't show up in usersub at all until you removed the word in question (which requires guesswork since they don't tell you what the word is). I've even seen a few other frequent posters make posts about it happening to them as well.
Just because you personally haven't seen it happen doesn't mean it never happens.
