We did it again.

Two perfectly fine dogs were killed-listed at one of my local shelters.

I am a musher and trainer with a sled dog team of 11. And I stood up to foster Biggie here and will be picking up his brother on Monday.

I often think of the Teddy Roosevelt quote. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. I have the space, time, and skills to help with the insane dog problem in our society. But I have to put food on the table. Many weeks I do as much work for free as I get paid for, but sometimes I know I am truly needed - so I help.

Both of the boys are going to need a neuter. They are about one year old. I have a partner Vet that I work with that makes the surgery very affordable. It will be about $235 for each dog. They both need crates. We need some food. That’s pretty much it… no medical issues, I have collars and leashes, and things for adopters, and I do have some food for them now, and the medicine that they are on.

I understand that it’s… 2026. I can’t even with the economy. Consider a share even if you can’t donate, or at least read his story and then pay it forward tomorrow by doing what you can, with what you have, where you are. and thank you for reading.
