http://m.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/lamb-kebab-pizza.html

Pastrmajlija, Macedonia

Smoked meat, hot peppers and egg.

Deep fried pizza, Scotland

The basis is an inexpensive fresh or frozen oven-ready pizza consisting of a thick par-baked base with toppings already applied. This is then fried until crisp.

Deep dish, Chicago IL

Baked in a pan, each pie has a thicker crust that can rise up to three inches high along the edges. Toppings (which often include meat) and cheese are then layered under a chunky tomato sauce.

Musakhan, Palestine

Topped with onions, spices, and nuts, and typically served with chicken.

Khachapuri, Georgia

Khachapuri, a traditional Georgian dish, looks like a calzone crossed with an egg sandwich. The dough is stuffed with cheese (in Georgia, a variety called sulguni is often used), then topped with an egg and some butter.

Coca, Spain

This particular pizza can be served either sweet or savory, and you'll find versions that are both open (a pastry base with toppings) or closed (a hand pie–like pastry with filling). Ingredients vary, and can include egg, fish, vegetables, fruit, meat, and cheese.

Sfiha, Syria

An open faced meat pie. Toppings typically minced lamb, pinenuts and onions.

Okonomiyaki, Japan

The recipe changes based on region, but it typically includes cabbage, pork, noodles, and squid. It’s layered or mixed and fried in batter, then topped with an egg and okonomiyaki sauce, which tastes like a sweeter version of Worcestershire sauce.

Cong You Bing, China

Flatbread folded with oil and minced scallions.

http://www.saveur.com/article/Recipes/Classic-Scallion-Pancakes

Manakish, Lebanon

The dough is typically topped with za'atar, a spice mixture containing thyme, sesame seeds, and sumac, before baking; it might also have cheese or meat on it.

Lahmucan Pizza, turkey

Thin and crispy bread with minced meat, vegetables and herbs

http://www.traditionalturkishcooking.com/2013/05/lahmacun-lahmacun-also-known-as-turkish.html?m=1

Sfincione - Sicily, Italy

In Sicily, the pie is topped simply—with some cheese, olive oil, and breadcrumbs—before being baked. The Americanized version of the dish is heavier, with layers of sauce and cheese atop a thick crust.

http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2011/12/sfincione-sicilian-new-years-pizza-with-bread.html

Tarte flambèe, France

Tarte flambée has a thin crust that's topped with fromage blanc or creme fraiche, lardons, and onions, before being baked in a wood-fire oven. There are several varieties in France, including a dessert version with apples, cinnamon, and sweet liqueur.

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/anne-burrell/tarte-flambee-recipe.html

Pizza Bianca - Rome, Italy

features thin dough drizzled with olive oil and coarse salt, which is then baked and sliced before serving. Fun fact: It's frequently sold by weight, not by slice.

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/pizza-bianca-recipe.html

Zapiekanka, Poland

Pizza meets sandwich. Cheese, mushroom and onion are baked into a baguette and topped with ketchup.

http://www.foodpeopleplaces.com/zapiekanka-sandwich-recipe/

Bulgogi pizza, Korea

Beef is marinated in a soy sauce, sesame, and spice mixture and grilled.

http://mykoreankitchen.com/bulgogi-pizza/

Paratha, India

Similar to naan, but made with whole wheat flour, and is a typical side dish. It can also be topped with veg, meat, or egg and served on its own, pizza-style.

Alsace was both french and german, at different times (battle for it took place during ww2). Now it's a french region with german heritage

-1 for Chicago style but not New York

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 8

It was on the short list but I wanted an even 20

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i wouldve put it on before okonomiyaki, which is more like a topped pancake than a pizza

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But more people know NY style in comparison. I wanted more of an education of different pizzas while still have a few familiar ones.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

New York style is boring. It is big and cheap. It's not hard to make. Chicago style can be difficult to make - it takes a lot more effort.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I'M NOT SAYING ONE IS BETTER SO DON'T GET MAD. I'm just saying you don't really need a recipe for New York style.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Don't you need a rat for quality control of New York pizzas?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Good dough is pretty essential, could link to a recipe for that for instance

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Use this in my pizza oven and it is heavenly http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/pizza-dough-recipe.html

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great post. I want all of these, except the Japanese squid one

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

I have said that about the look of most Japanese food and they usually taste great.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

If it's any consolation, that is one of the least appetizing okonomiyaki I've ever seen.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Okonomiyaki is not Pizza. Pizza is Pizza in Japan. Okonomiyaki is completely different.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's the nice version. Dominoes in Japan has a best seller of tuna, corn and mayo pizza. And it's a fucking atrocity.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Okonomiyaki is crazy delicious. Usually all ingredients are inside the pizza like batter and not on top with a lil Kewpie mayo.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some of these stretch definition of "pizza"

9 years ago | Likes 115 Dislikes 2

Especially those fucking chicago slop pies.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

langos are also not even close to pizza..

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Chinese scallion pancake is not pizza... Lol. Made with batter on a hot flat surface not an oven

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Stretch? STRETCH? Squid? Ketchup? I'm a Polack by heritage, but ketchup on pizza? No.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OP is a big fat lair. Japan has Pizza. Okonomiyaki is not pizza it's Okonomiyaki.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can confirm that kebab pizza is amazing
