OP get pay back, and payback!

I kissed the money goodbye, and it took me years to crawl out of debt and get myself back on my feet, let alone be on top again. Now I have my own home, savings, and a surplus amount of money to buy cool shit without having to worry about whether it's a waste. Not bragging or anything, but it's nice to no longer have to ask 'should I buy food, or pay electricity bill?' and now be able to ask 'should I buy this sweet Link and Epona statue, for reasons, or this new Master Replica lightsaber, for also reasons?'

She contacts me about six months ago, wanting to 'reconnect.' She says she's matured, and realised her mistakes with me, and wanted to see if I'd reconsider being her friend - or more - once again.

I asked around with some mutual acquaintances, and it turns out she hasn't changed at all. She's still a bitch, still pretending to be pregnant to keep people around, still switching boyfriends more regularly than underwear. I got a mutual friend to ask around for me, and found out her parents, boyfriend, and all her friends had wisened up to her shit and wouldn't take her in, so she was sleeping in a dirty, cheap motel while all her stuff sat getting stolen and destroyed by weather on the side of a road somewhere.

Apparently she decided that since she pulled one over me when I was younger, she could do it again, and confided in our mutual friend that she figured she'd hit me up, flirt a bit, show me her tits, and I'd fall for it.

She said she'd 'do anything' to prove she'd changed. I asked if she'd pay back the $15,000 she owed. She said she'd try, and a few weeks later, she pays me back. Said she had to get a personal loan to get the money, but she paid it to me. Every last cent.

After she paid, she sent me a message to say she had done so, and if I'd reconsider our relationship and maybe let her move in. I sent her a fake auto email back saying that I was working remotely without internet or phone access, and would have very sporadic access to emails (if at all) and would get back to her ASAP. I sent the same thing every time she emailed me. I waited a few months to make sure the money was legit (I don't know what I was expecting - mob hit or something?).

After a few months, I sent her the following email: "Hi OP's Ex, thanks for finally paying me back. I'm onto your tricks - you know OP's Mutual Friend? She told me your plans. Anyway, I reconsidered your request for renewing our friendship, and regret to inform you that the answer is fuck off and never contact me again. No love, OP." I flagged her email as spam, and never heard from her again.

I still can't work out how getting a loan and paying me back so that I'd let her live with me for free would somehow be valuable to her. Unless she heard I was doing pretty well and thought she could rob me or something?

Either way, now I got $15,000 of pure spendin' money!

tl;dr: ex owes OP money, crawls back 8 years later for a free place to live, offers to pay back OP. OP takes money and blocks her.

EDIT: To answer some questions:
1) Being a douche/prick/vindictive: No. She lied to me, cheated on me, left me down $15,000, forced me into debt, and when I kicked her out, she pretended she was pregnant to make me take her back in. She got what she deserved.

2) How does a destitute girl get $15,000? She got a personal loan from a bank or loan provider. She was in a motel because she was kicked out of home, and her stuff was on the street because she can't move it all into a motel. Obviously, despite her situation, she had the collateral to get a loan.

3) INVEST! Yes, I'll be investing it all. Well, most. $10,000 will be going into a high interest savings account. $5,000 is gonna go on some stuff I want for photography.

4) Things that didn't happen/ENJOY YOUR INTERNET POINTS BRUH: Okay, look, I get it - it's fun to assume that people are putting things on the internet for the points. This is what society craves these days - validation from upvotes, likes, shares. I, like most people, enjoy the validation of positive commentary. But here's the thing: I'm not the same generation as most people on Imgur. I'm 30, and don't see internet points as any kind of validation. I get my high from producing art in my photography and getting actual comments from that. One photo getting 200 likes means less to me than one photo getting a handful of nice comments.
