Yes. In 3, you won't be invaded unless your Ember is restored. You lose Ember when you die, so...yeah. I never got invaded, first play.

Invasion refers to another character, be it a player or NPC, entering your world for combat because reasons (red invader, zone guardian) (1)

You can play in offline mode with no chance of invasion, also invasion in general is pretty rare so nothing really to worry about.

(2) Offline mode will remove player invasions, but NPC scripted invasions will occur if you're human/ember (DS1/3). DS2 was the exception.

(in DS2 you could get invaded while being either undead or human. DS1/3 forces you to be in human/ember form to become a host for PvP/CoOp)
