Another year, another list of games I thought were worthwile to compile. As always, not all of them will see the light of day, and some of them might be worse than whats shown in trailers and promotions. Judge for yourselves and beware.
Here are the previous two lists for those interested:
Part 1 :

Part 2 :

Moonlighter
As a shopkeeper with easy access to an excavation site housing an interdimensional portal, you are setting out to discover, loot and fight your way through various worlds and enviroments. Featuring Rogue-Lite elements with an RPG background it emulates a few different classics but can still charm with its carefully crafted pixel style.

This Land Is My Land
Take the role of a native american warrior, shaping the open world of the old american west, stealthing your way through the environment. Not a lot is known at the moment, but between the failure that was Wild West Online and the still on the horizons Read Dead 2, it might be worth keeping an eye on this games progress.

Iron Harvest
Running on the Company of Heroes engine, this game employs the 1920+ alternate universe, combining mechs with the first world war. Engagements happen in cover based fashion, using the enviroment to influence battle. The developers recently announced a Kickstarter campaign, raising funds for the development. If thats either an assurance or cause for concern isn't clear yet.

Deep Rock Galactic
Dwarves, Coop, Mining. What almost sounds like a Bitcoin adventure, seems to be a procedurally generated FPS that squares you off with all kinds of aliens to take care of and to protect your loot from. Choose one of 4 classes and drill your way into caves of varying sizes.

The Gardens Between
Follow two friends as they embark on a journey of surreal puzzle solving adventures. And rewind time to find your way through increasingly difficult environments. Right now there seems to be no word of cooperative play, but at least the soundtrack sounds lovely.

Genesis Alpha One
Combining roguelike elements with on the fly cloning, to adapt your player character to everchanging problems. Combined with a deep space base building loop it doesn't sound to bad on paper. But if it actually pays off remains to be seen. The existing gameplay still looks very rough around the edges, but the ideas are neat enough to catapult the game into the list.

Flash Point Fire Rescue
Finding its origins in a popular boardgame, Flash Point Fire Rescue looks like to be a fun continuation of its tabletop concept on Steam. Either alone or cooperatively, decisions matter a lot to avoid burning sensations and a mouth full of charcoal. Thanks to its turn based nature, the game should play a little more relaxed though.

The Colonists
A new settling/builder simulation, seemingly similar to titles like Banished, Settlers or the Anno series. Prepare your planet for the arrival of your human friends by planning transport systems, food chains and their industries. All the while evolving from Stone to Space Age.

Griftlands
Griftlands looks like a a classic RPG experience with graphic novel qualities. Talk your way out of a plethora of situations and level up your party of Robots, Aliens and Humans (and the occasional snail). Not much else is known at the moment, but the looks alone might be interesting for a few people.

Knights and Bikes
Charming characters, a coming of age story and lots of bootleg fantasy elements. Fend off ghosts and other enemies by making use of shovels, water balloons, frisbees and other improvised tools. In proven 80s fashion. The cooperative adventure doesn’t have a set release date yet, but as many other games in this list, it looks to good to ignore.

Post Sciptum
If you played ARMA or Squad or even Red Orchestra 2, this World War 2 team-shooter should be familiar already. With a great, authentic soundscape, large open maps and competitively sized teams, you gear up again with your all time favorite M1 Garand.

If you are a fan of Rainbow Six, Hotline Miami or the SWAT series, this top down room clearer is your best bet for the foreseeable future. Until Sierra releases SWAT 5… Early backers already have access to a closed Beta with multiplayer functionality. All others late to the tango party will have to wait for Steams Early Access.

MattDark86
Didn't realise they were making a flashpoint videogame. I really enjoy the boardgame, so may have to look into that!
W92Baj
Deep Rock Galactic is a laugh riot. Not sure on the longevity, time will tell, but if you have 3 friends its recommended
SeamusMcFamous
Added a few of these to my Wishlist, thanks op!
Godbear91
This land is my land looks really cool
rglsnchz
Indivisible by lab zeros is a game im really hyped for. I think its supposed to come out this year
deepseaphone
Thanks for the suggestion!
kawaiitankguy
company of heroes is awesome and more games like it is good.
OPIsAF4gg0t
It's great to see that smaller game developers are still making good stuff
jetflight
More indie devs need to learn from Ninja Theory's Hellblade. Indie game WITHOUT looking like it was half-assed by hobos in 1989.
aPokal
Ninja theory is an accomplished AAA studio with many veterans of the industry. Most of "garage start-up" don't have the expertise or the
aPokal
budget for getting it within one project. Same with Star Citizen. It got millions not for the premise alone, but cause people with specific
aPokal
experience of making acclaimed games of very similar kind are involved.
muisverriet
Deeprock Galactic is super fun.
Honeybadger2198
Have a check out on EITR and Hellpoint. EITR almost nothing is known and the devs are silent, and Hellpoint has an active Discord.
deepseaphone
I watched EITR for a long time, but I wanted to include games in the list that are actively in development for the most part.
Honeybadger2198
It is still in development, the devs are just insanely silent. http://steamcommunity.com/app/350050/discussions/0/2860219962087972006/
Ravenbreaker
Kinda pumped for Iron Harvest.
JackRusselHarrier
I’ve been playing a lot of Prey recently. It’s like a space alien dishonored that scares the shit out of me with jump scares, but it’s fun
MacMango
Dude, "too". You're looking for the word "too".
deepseaphone
Ha, yeah. Still working my way around the english language!
XequR
Oh nice more games I can't play yet.
iwanttoaggressivelysqueezeteemo
How dead is Wild West online? I thought it wasn’t out yet...
kentleigh
I tell ya what, let me know when these are finished. Far too many games that look amazing, but never get completed.
kentleigh
First time I pre-ordered, it was Overgrowth in 2009, by the time they released it (last October), I'd got a job, moved out, and got married.
SirMuffinCat
Being Native American, I'm super excited to see how This Land is My Land turns out
Ravenbreaker
Historically...? I'm gonna spoil the ending and say not very well.
theodoubleto
I mean, theirs Assassin’s Creed III.
SirMuffinCat
You are right, and I enjoyed that thoroughly
theodoubleto
I really wish Connor’s Robes were in Origins like they were in Unity. Just makes me sad.
LikeTotallyNotTheNSA
As a whitey, my white guilt will have me playing for hours.
CouldCareLessButDoesnt
So I thought when you said compile that you wrote them all and was impressed, then halfway through I was disappointed
necruccio
Iron harvest just looks like wild west with will Smith
AMedicalHuman
Have a look at Ground Branch also, tactical shooter from one of the developers of old school Rainbow Six: http://www.groundbranch.com/
MasterVote
If you like the concept of Police Stories you should def check Doorkickers: http://store.steampowered.com/app/248610/Door_Kickers/
IUpvoteEveryNicholasCageGIF
The Moonlighter and the Gardens Between looks awesome. Are these all free in stream though?
kojenk
Been waiting for Iron Harvest for so long!
IAmJacksRagingBileDuct
How is Wild West Online a failure? It's not even in beta yet.
deepseaphone
Its made by the guys behind Infestation: Suvivor Stories and backed by Sergey Titov... Enough details to make this dead on arrival.
IAmJacksRagingBileDuct
No it isn't. I know TB spread that rumor around, but the devs addressed it. They licensed the same engine as Infestation but aren't related.
Teesea
If you're interested in Police Stories, I'd recommend Door Kickers.
CyriousLordofDerp
Then theres this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_XluX0pRDM
yeyerusky
Looks pretty weak.
CyriousLordofDerp
I'm one of the testers, and the dev has gone on to include things like Base Building, PVP, and Legendary Gun mods.
CyriousLordofDerp
The core concept of the game is: you have a gun. Stack mods on it to turn it into whatever it is you need to get the job done.
someguyfromengland
I'm waiting for Frostpunk myself.
AmorinaAMY
Rusty Lake and and cube escape games should be added to this list
deepseaphone
Can I edit public gallery albums without taking them off the gallery first? Adding images I mean.
AmorinaAMY
Ahh not sure! But thanks for the suggestions a lot of these look awesome
ExtraRains
Don't forget Untitled Goose Game!
deepseaphone
Ha yes! Thats one I've got my eyes on for quite a while, but theres not to much known (active development, release date) as far as I know.
MrNightfish
I dunno, most of these don't seem like they have loot boxes. How will I feel proud and accomplished?
ensensu
Back in my day, we got a sense of accomplishment from playing games, not buying stuff.
AsianDad
What about paying a full price game that requires 10 dollars for a save slots?
Keyten
40 $ is not fuIl price. I prefer this to lootboxes which mg survive doesn't have. Especially since you don't need second character at all.
BigDaddysMeatWagon
How about they just charge $60 and release a full game, rather than charging you for save slots?
Keyten
It would cost me 20 more $ since I don't need them.
elephantpoe
That's ludicrious. Such a shame they're ruining Kojima's legacy
MrNightfish
:D Just when you think Konami hit rock bottom with the MG pachinko machines, they get a shovel and start digging like it's 1850
IKnowYouHateMeYes
I'm sorry, but what game is that?
BronzeOnion
Metal Gear Survive.
Darkwolf2577
That would be Metal Gear Survive. Something almost no one wanted and was produced anyway.
KurtTheKangaroo
Metal gear: survivor
IKnowYouHateMeYes
Ty
AnAstronautEventually
Metal Gear Survive. What have they done...
IKnowYouHateMeYes
Ty.
Idsertian
#FucKonami Because Konami is Konami, and Konami is the WORST.
yeyerusky
Does that EA dick still taste good in your mouth, or has it dried up after all this time?
SpecialProjectY
Satsugaisuru
AH AH AH, you failed so much at understanding the joke... Internet isn't for you, dude.
yeyerusky
I truly wish he was joking, but judging by his comment history he most likely is not.
Sulimen
He was joking, the "proud and accomplished" comment was a reference to EA justifying their predatory anti consumer practices on reddit but1/2
MrNightfish
Exactly, and I'm pretty sure most people got it, but this is the internet, there's always one guy who doesn't or just trolls. :3
Sulimen
obviously the joke falls flat once you have to explain it, so it won't be funny anymore. 2/2
yeyerusky
Doubtful.
Theman098
Does EA sell your brain as dlc? Because you need it.

If people weren't as easily tricked into loot boxes as MrNightfish, nobody would even implement them and this thread wouldn't even exist.
historyrepeatsitself
Take a look at Chronicles of Elyria
Desfait
Unpopular opinion: I'm incredibly sceptical. There's no way they can deliver what they've promised on the money they're asking for. 1/2
historyrepeatsitself
Well tbh, I haven't bought on yet. I'm waiting for solid updates from A1 users and developers.
iwanttoaggressivelysqueezeteemo
Isn’t it pay per life? Like an arcade?
historyrepeatsitself
It's an interesting setup, as you pay for a "spark of life". When you die there are a different set of rules then if you die in an arcade
NopeHunter
yeah but one life is like 5-14months of play time i think
iwanttoaggressivelysqueezeteemo
What if you are killed in game? Does that not count?
NopeHunter
1. Not necessarily. Most "deaths" will have you do a spirit walk back to your body. Each time you die, or the older you character is when
Desfait
Sounds like a risky pet project that chose crowd sourcing to make a prototype. Which they will then sell onto someone else to complete. 2/2
anonymousdoctorsinspace
Is it playable yet?
historyrepeatsitself
Not yet. Alpha I comes out soon. Right now they're on a Kickstarter-esque tier system with the higher tiers getting earlier access.
anonymousdoctorsinspace
Right. I remember that. I forget if I bought a tier though.
NopeHunter
if you made an account on the site you could check which tier you had. or check in your kickstarter history
FoxyProxie
I think I’ll need another spark of life by the time it’s actually finished
historyrepeatsitself
Kingdom Come: Deliverance looks similar in some ways to Elyria
BigDaddysMeatWagon
As in it's a medieval rpg? Yeah. But that's like saying call of duty is like war thunder because they're both wwII games.
historyrepeatsitself
The system for skills and armor seems way different from everything else I've seen besides the previews for Elyria. Combat too
