Most of the first season is crap but necessary to build on. Think about boring prerequisites before you get to move on to the good stuff.

I love Star Trek. Grew up on that shit. I find the first seasons of TNG and DS9 are very hard to get through. It does get better

DS9 is tough because for S1-2 the highs are high but the lows are terrible. Keep going, there's some gems & S3 on is great
