It will take a complete rejection of Republicans, like Nazis in Germany, to even begin to start repairing the damage. We have to fight a war to regain control of the country first. We are split in half on that, so it probably isn't going to happen. Badically, it will likely take aggressive action by the US government that starts a war in which we are defeated and split up. The America we knew is gone. We had the chance to stop this in 2024, but we bent over instead.

I attended a more or less average high school in an average Missouri county seat town in the late '50's, and the textbook we used for American history covered only up to the end of WWII. But the teacher only made it through Woodrow Wilson. I used to dig up bullets from old Civil War skirmishes with my dad and his metal detector, but her history class only spent a week on the Civil War.

Trump was mad and wanted to get stuff out Canada. So he demanded tariffs from them, hoping they'd concede and just give him what he wanted.
They didn't. Instead they introduced a dollar per dollar tariff as a response. Trump is now pissed, and is threatening to raise tariff's again, which would trigger Canada to automatically raise theirs in response.
Basically Trump is throwing a temper tantrum.

The Iran deal was an absolute masterstroke... Iran was complying with everything, including nuclear inspections, then comes Mr Art of the Deal and blows it all up, *after* US had already released all Iran's frozen assets that were the leverage for the deal back to Iran. Effectively, Trump gave Iran their billions back in exchange for Iran having no further obligations, while simultaneously erasing all the leverage the world had over Iran.
