ferret tries to feed human to her babies

Trying to feed the fat pink sausage finger to her young

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Is this maybe because she's ultra-nesting and wants all her beloved things in the box? Actual question, I don't know about moms, sometimes.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

She's seeing a small hairless pink fleshy thing and her brain is telling her "That's your baby. Put it with the other babies." Sorry.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ferrets are super weasels!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm curious as to why animals do this

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She is responding to the intinct to put all here babies in one spot and she considers the human one of her babies. They're not too bright.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because they love you if you are kind to them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are kind to -> feed

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Human! HUMAN! These fell out of my vagina and now they won't leave me alone. EXPLAIN!"

I agree with the first part, but not the second. Ferrets, and mustelids in general, are quite intelligent animals.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Fair enough. If you want to say that trying to haul a full grown human into her nest by the finger in order to care for it is intelligent...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

They're smarter than cats, about on par with dogs. Like I said in the other comment, hormones can cause strange behaviors.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But hormones kick in to cause instinctual behaviors than intelligence can't override, at times. This happens in humans, too.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think she thinks you are one of her babies.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why tho? Why would the ferret do this?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You mean: Dred feeds human to her babies

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think this is the sweetest thing I've seen all day

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I think she wants to make sure that you accept her babies.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

She thinks finger is a baby. Ferrets have terrible eyesight

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

I think this is closest to correct of all the guesses in comment section

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

We had them for years.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While true I think it’s more instinct than being blind.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope you will love them and feed them like you do with me -Ferret probably

Can someone link that clip of the parrot saying, “Time to feed the babies. I love the babies”? Can’t find it anywhere, want to show my kid.
