The creation kit has snap to grid, to angle, and now to node for Fallout 4. Node tends to act weird, though.

Snap to grid allows your mouse cursor to jump to a point of interest when hover your mouse near it. It's sort of hard to explain.

CAD software is used to make 2d sketches and 3d models of pretty much anything you can imagine. Really useful in engineering.
