Nice job OP! Keep it up!

Coffee helps everything.

Quit a 2 pack a day habit cold turkey years ago. Don't know if this would work for everyone, but a little marijuana made it easy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well done dude

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congrats, it took me a lot to quit, I haven't had one for the last 5 years, keep going man and don't look back

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Four years off the butts. Switched to vaping. Still get my fix without all the nasty stuff. Plus, Honeydew/Kiwi juice, man!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well MrCuntCuntly, congrats on quitting

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pffft! 11 years... But good for you. I've been smoking on & off for over 40 years. Currently 10 days quit.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

“I Feel a lot better but I am filled with rage” the best explanation of what it’s like a month after quitting.

Wait, are you telling OP to smoke or not smoke?

By the time cigarettes kill me, I'll have smoked tens of thousands of them. That's a hell of a KDR

Guns smoke too you know

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

No, people with cigarettes kill you. Don't let the lamestream news tell you otherwise. Cigarettes are what this country was founded on.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Thank you! If you get hurt by other people smoking, by cigarettes yourself and make sure they die even faster!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think cigarettes should be sold in schools and carried by teachers in case of fights or polar bears. Smoke 'em.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...if you got 'em.

Caffeine is a royal fucker, too. If you take a lot of the stuff, missing even one day will wreck you.

9 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 2

The blessings of a high caffeine tolerance means I suffer no withdrawal symptoms if I go for days/weeks/months without.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same here. A friend told me I'd get huge headaches and stuff if I stopped drinking caffiene, so I tried it for a month. Nothing.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a good replacement really. It's easy to get ahold of most of the days. The day you can't gt any, It'd be under extreme circumstances

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wont kill you nearly as quickly or at all even.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, god yes. I recently had to kick a caffeine addiction and I was horrible for about a week.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Found cigs was easier to quit than caffeine..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

meh

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Took me a year to quit caffeine, 7 cans a day was just too freaking much. Now it's 2 cups of coffee in the morning. I can live with that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on your own metabolism and physical make up. The amount of coffee (or lack of it ) has no effect on me 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

However, two good shots of maker's and I'm done for.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I try to only drink one cup a week. Then again, I'm in high school and can't find enough time in the day so it's an addiction I can easily <

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

> see myself develop.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fun fact tho: caffiene won't kill you. Anything up to four cups a day might actually have benefits, including boosting fat burn at the gym

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I know you mean coffee, but 946 ml of pure caffeine will kill you on the first day of that diet.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Anyone with a caffeine addiction isn't drinking four "cups"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How big is a cup? Cause 4 espressos a day is good for you but it's like the tiniest one.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 espresso is 100ml of caffeine, 1 coffee cup is 50 ml, 1 mtn dew can is 42ml, 1 coke can is 40ishml. Hope this helps!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When they say these stats they mean basic coffee and either an actual measured cup or just an average size coffee mug.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never been sure which

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would think 4 espressos add up to a cup (the measurement, not the mug). Not sure though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Right but because it's espresso and not plain coffee it would have a different caffeine amount

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As opposed to Capitalist America where you smoke gun?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You got this. You are much stronger than you think & you're amazing! If not for you, then for your future family down the line. Or current.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My Grandmother died of lung cancer at 72. But she smoked two packs of Pall Mall daily since she was 16 years old. Dam that's a long time.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am one year off cigarettes and I can say it does get easier. Stay strong

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good start. Keep it up!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Rage abates. Good on you guy.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In New Zealand, if you smoke, death certificate will list that as a contributor to cause of death if primary cause is not an accident.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm also crossing the one month mark for no smokes. asside from a couple cigars for special occasions (first home, dead friends bday)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Last August was a year for be hurray we got this OP

It took a stroke and loss of a lot of functions for some months to get my dad to quit. Don't wait.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 days here! gym coffee and a tooth pick for me. Oh the patch kinda helps. No longer addicted to cigarettes, addicted to the patch!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OP, I'm trained in smoking cessation. You've got the will and the drive to succeed. Keep it up. It's not an easy process and you're doing it

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've been off of cigarettes for around 4 months now after smoking for 7 years. Its still tough but worth it, financially and physically.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I started smoking again after 9 years quit. Dumb. Dumb dumb dumb. Don’t fall into the “it’s a special occasion, just one night...” trap.

9 years ago | Likes 437 Dislikes 2

quit for 6, smoked for 3 months and quit for 2 more years, smoked for 6 months, quit for ...8 weeks today

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I did that too. Again.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trying to quit now after over a year back in. I had quit for 15 years. Went all week without and last night smoked several. Dumb. Dumb dumb

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's dumb, but not as dumb as my mom who has emphysema and CHF, has had pneumonia twice in six months and won't quit. Don't get there.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've never been addicted even though I've smoked a few times. So I don't get it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I’m nine years tobacco-free today! Great advice. The old urges sneak back at random times even now. Not even once!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You just can't beat yourself up if you pick it up again. Quit the habit again and keep on going. You'll make mistakes. Its really hard.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Been there multiple times in last 4 yrs. Back on a 6-ish week clean streak again.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah I know it can never be just one or only when I drink. One and I’ll be back to a pack a day in a week.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Quit snus cold turkey 3 years ago, anytime I would borrow one from a pal it was fine. It was buying a pack myself that got me back in.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn I'm only 3 days in and my mood is a mess...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's easier to forgive you for some special occasions, than to say that you totally fucked up after one party smoking and start fully again

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did the same thing after 5 years without a smoke.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is true for each and every addiction

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still do the special occassion reason and haven't waiveredstill.(After actively smoking for 5 years I have only had 5 cigarettes this year

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Be careful. I thought I had proven to myself that I was done with the addiction by doing that. I felt safe, so became a smoker again.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

6 years of smoking *

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anytime I start again I pinpoint it to buying a pack when I'm hammered and not "wanting to waste the rest" the next day

9 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 0

the first time i bought a pack, i threw it out the same day, after smoking two in a row. i am glad I chose to value health over money

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Seems like you value health and money over succumbing to addiction. Good on ya :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Applies to weed, too...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

nah actually weed is a pretty good way to quit smoking cigarettes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Been there done that. Had quit for 2+ months. "Just one pack". AAAHAHAHA fuck I'm stupid.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Having said that, I've been on e-cigs for 2 years now and haven't had the slightest twinge of "tobacco would be nice now".

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I had to upgrade to a vape kit to quit, still miss the real thing tho

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's my gripe with e-cigs though - it's just another habit. No one I know that switched to e-cig or vape took the next step of quitting.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Aye but the benefit is you can reduce nicotine dose easily in steps without completely changing the experience. Doing that now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but the only bad thing in it is nicotine, it doesn't have the carcinogens or additives cigarettes have, so at least it's not as bad.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Some of the flavorings are really bad - we don't know enough about inhaling them. I give the advice to stick with VG+PG+nicotine _only_.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We don't even know that, though - we just assume it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you tried hypnotherapy? It can be very effective for smoking cessation.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

No thanks. Don't wanna be anyone's mind slave.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

That only works if you are easily suggestable. Otherwise it won't work. If you question authority at all, usually won't take or last long.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That’s not how it works. What if you are the authority. Some people can hypnotize themselves.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hypnotherapist here- everyone's suggestable. There are different methods used for different types of suggestability. Go to someone 1/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/. That knows how to test for emotional and physical suggestability. Much more successful.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kewl I have tried it and it didn’t work on me, nor did they say there’s different ways?! Hmm suggestions?
