It's a mopar 318 small block 5.2L in an 87 Ramcharger.
new heads, intake manifold, valve covers, carb, cap/rotor/wires/plugs, hoses, AC delete, alt, exhaust headers, master cylinder, belts, ignition coil, you get the idea, whole top end..... :)
Everything making it to the front page? Everyone look at my 87 Dodge Ramcharger!

Hate to say this but that's not a motor that's an engine
Irongient
MOAR CHROME! Old school! Carburetors! Fuck yeah.
Wakko47
That alternator works better with a belt on it.
unseenkiller
and belts go on easily once you get the belt off the power steering pump which isn't on a tentioner :) - it's the last of like 3 things

@op must be a Skywalker... Check out the one with his hand on the radiator cap.
unseenkiller
LOL, that's my friend Justin, but i can totally see it
Kittiquel
I'm not a huge fan of how close those spark plug wires are to your header when running around back, but I always enjoy a carbed engine.
unseenkiller
already thought about it, once it's running they're getting cloth-sleeved
Kittiquel
I would have just pinned them a little further away jic the sleeves fail after a while, but that's just me. Looks like it was a fun job!
DetrimentalWolf
Braided hoses.
unseenkiller
been thinking about this a lot! thanks for reminding me though, it's been on the backburner!

I'm more of a ford guy, but I'll admit...these ramchargers always looked great. But why not do the bottom end as well?
unseenkiller
also thanks for the compliment! :D
unseenkiller
I didn't wanna put bottom end work into a little bitty 318. I want a real motor before I invest money like that.
droppingmynutsoffatyourmoms
Ahh! Haha. I'm assuming you didn't pull the engine to do the top end? But definitely true! But it's always fun to overhaul them lol. 1/2
droppingmynutsoffatyourmoms
2/2 I'm currently overhauling a 4.3 vortec for a guy I know, he got it at auction with a blown head gasket...heads were also cracked

Less chrome
unseenkiller

unseenkiller
well hell boy, message me i guess! :D
MurseMemer
Should of taken a moment to rattlecan the block
Swoopinforaboopin
Id also try to go with an edlebrock dual plane rpm performer manifild, they are great for flow and power
Swoopinforaboopin
Remember to read about how the airflow in the heads work with the airflow with the manifold, matching those two will make it run much better
ssforce
Did you delete the AC for more room/ one less accessory to turn?
unseenkiller
that's a complicated answer...... i REALLY hated how ugly it was, and messy it looked, but it was converted and i do need it (1)
unseenkiller
and it's hot as hell here, but my rule with this truck has been "remove it, or replace 100% of it", and i'm not ready to replace all of it
ssforce
Makes sense. Looks like its going to be a fun project.
NotFromCanada
Needs a bigger motor.
unseenkiller
Yeah..... =/ - but it was rebuilt already, so i'm gonna daily it while i build a new one in my garage :D
NotFromCanada
I miss having an old ram with a 360. It was fun. Looks like a nice truck you have though
unseenkiller
much appreciated! yeah, i'm not wasting that engine bay, something real will be in there some day
