While they definitely hunt prey escaping from the infernos, more recent studies on the birds have raised questions about whether it is "intentionally" spreading wildfires, or just grabbing chunks of burning debris when it snatches up prey that was already running from existing ones.

In Finnish, 1, 3, 6, 8 and 9 are same (virtahepo, mustekala, nokkaeläin, kilpikonna & pesukarhu), but we do have our own names for 2 miekkavalas = sword whale (prob. what dorsal fin looks like), 4 laiskiainen = slovenly, 5 siili (prob. loan word from Estonian), 7 lepakko = flappy!

In fairness, the cat has split mega forms, including a dragon and an angel. So there's a bit of wriggle-room there. Sometimes it's simpler, like dinosaur into cyborg dino. Or armoured warrior dino. (Or evil skeleton dinosaur that one time) Digimon Adventure 01 and 02 was awesome. Never watched any of the rest.

Ah, you watched the first two anime. The original source for Digimon was basically a tamagochi but with fighting elements and it had loads of monster options from hatching to final form. The games got worse and some games allowed you to digivolve up and down until you get from one Digimon to any other possible Digimon in the game.
