The Kiss Of Life is a Pulitzer Prize Winner and is copyrighted. The unconscious man contacted HIGH voltage. He survived due to the CPR.

The 2 paper boys on the left that are smoking look to be brothers. Love these old pics.

#1 I bet there was a small fight about who got to climb that ladder.

That New York skyline, tho

9 years ago | Likes 505 Dislikes 5

It's a bit of a deceptive angle, NYC was pretty built up at that point still, notably lower Manhattan. Check out a Blimp flying over in 1933

Pff Himmler surely didn't have dreads

Those paper boys look like they could whoop my ass and steal my money and possibly my girl.

Do you ever look at pics of Robert Wadlow or Andre the Giant, and just like...REALLY want to know what their junk looks like?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dick pic or it didn't happen!

Did the utility worker's wife dump him after he gave C.P.R.?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Great post, @OP I don't think I've ever seen any of these before!

The first photo is from an old Bellsouth training video. It's a dramatization of something that happened to a lineman. I work for ATT.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nope. Taken by Rocco Morabito in Jacksonville, FL. He was awarded a Pulitzer for it.

I have never heard of Judy James or Garland Mason.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who read it that way.

#1 technically touched a medium or high voltage wire, depending on what standard you use. It was estimated to be 4000v. Definitely not low.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That first guy just wanted a kiss and he finally figured out how to get it.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 4

I too have found that the best way to get someone to kiss you is to electrocute them first.

Haha. Figs!

I'd bang the shit out of Bea Arthur. Even today. Hell, especially today.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 7

Dude. She ded.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

#11 I don't think OSHA would approve of this.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not their domain since this is in England.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Interesting an all, but it's a shame that I can't get over your mistake of calling Vladimir Komarov an astronaut instead of cosmonaut.

9 years ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 7

Why american space explorers aren't spacionauts btw? They haven't been to stars yet. Cosmonauts and taikonauts are more correct.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're totally on point! Copied text from pic and so used to the word astronaut, never thought twice. Thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 2

For once my nitpicking helped :D

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

Genuinely curious here...whats the difference?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

EN: Astronaut, RU: Cosmonaut, FR: Spacionaute. Its all the same

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Sinonaut for Chinese, I think.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

GDI: Juggernaut, 40K: Space Marine...

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Astronaut was the Western term and cosmonaut was the East bloc term. No real difference as to the meaning of the words.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Kosmos is the Russian word for space. Similarly, Taikong is one word for space in Chinese, so they're called Taikonauts.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Actually it is greek origin, not Russian.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What isn't though, really ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I was little I thought Bea Arthur was the definition of badass and used to pray for her to come save me from my abusive stepmother.

9 years ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 1

That is funny, I was frightened of her and assumed she would not like me and would bully me. I like yours better.

It's cool. Bea Arthur never came but my Stepdad (who I call Dad) did. He legally adopted us and sued for custody when I was five.

Thank you, I needed closure. Glad it was a happy ending for you and your siblings

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I'm glad! He sounds like a great man

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually, he's a paranoid, grumpy, anal retentive hillbilly. I wouldn't trade him for nothing though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd take that over the avg pretentious know-it-all but actually ignorant and naive and unwilling to admit mistakes "College educated" idiot

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

interesting enough to make me look up Vladimir, so +1

9 years ago | Likes 153 Dislikes 1

An awful story. He died cursing the people who made such a shitty "spacecraft", yet he went so his friend Yuri Gargarin did not have to go.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I was surprised to see on Wikipedia that they still had an open casket funeral for him :0 NPR also had a really great article about him.

9 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

I think he requested it to make the guys see what they had done.

9 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

He knew there were issues with the capsule, but the leaders wouldn't listen. They can't ignore an open coffin.

OMG to fall from space would be helllll ur stomach just turning the whole time
