Oops, I forgot to close the garage door.... Ohnohz!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And that, kids, is why we put straps on roofs.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Damn good thing he was upwind !

'Fuck it, I don't need milk, bread, and eggs that badly'- guy probably

the roof done come off...

Someone needs to make this into a cartoon strip featuring the big bad wolf & the 3 pigs

It's not THAT the wind is blowing, it's WHAT the wind is blowing - mediocre stand up guy with drink in hand and sounds like Gary Busey

Elmer's Glue baby!!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gone with the wind

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Soooooooo, bit windy then?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Retractable roofs have gone through trial and error prior to successful usage.

There's a roofies joke here somewhere.

It's a usual day in Russia!)))

What is the chance of getting that on cam....

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

r/nothingeverhappens.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, and the camera was still so steady the whole time..... I trust nothing on the internet anymore.

I don't know what it is, but you can bypass it by reversing the polarity.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What is that thing?

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Mech-bunny. They reproduce like crazy, and feed on the power-grid. Hyneman specialises in exterminating them from power plants.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The problem.

Idk but I totally thought it was a rabbit when I first scrolled past this

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Ditto

They blew up his family's car or something

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why did that happen? Was there a tornado?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nah, just high winds and a crap roof. Saw it happen recently on a house nearby in about 40mph winds, due to poor maintenance and design.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The building was moving too fast when they put the top down. They should have stopped the building first.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Oh thank god, for a moment I was thinking "crazy how nature do that" but good to know it was just the building was moving too fast

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

taco bell

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I fucking knew it!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okay but why were they filming the guy just walking if it isn't staged?

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

That and the "is this how humans walk?" he's got going on.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The roof was probably already showing signs of breaking. It's a self-accelerating failure

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's the next step after dash-cams, only in trial stages at the moment.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

v close up of that guy

9 years ago | Likes 610 Dislikes 3

That's the most perfect use of this gif I have ever seen. Thank you +1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The clench factor.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you look closely you can see his pants move in that exact way. I think it's viable.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

I see it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Guys' reaction is appropriate.

9 years ago | Likes 1262 Dislikes 1

What happened next will shock you

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

But why were they filming?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I imagine it was creaking and moving quite a bit already ?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It seems like Russians are filming everything all the time

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No wonder Trump is so nervous.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I was waiting for him to just turn around and walk the other way.

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

He's just glad the wind is at his back.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

For real

Nailed to the ground

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He had the reaction of "Well would you look at that"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"what the flying fuck..."

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just wish I could see his face. 5/7 slack-jawed, wide-eyed

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I only see one guy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You only see one person, what about the one behind the camera?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We don't know what his reaction is though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're right ... I'll need to turn in my grammar nazi badge when I leave for the day

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that is... I agree with you

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't help myself :) Thanks for being a good sport.

"FFFRRRRRRTTttttt......" -guy's pants

Bernoulli's principle. When airspeed increases, air pressure decreases. Low air pressure on top, higher below the roof. So it gets lifted.

9 years ago | Likes 195 Dislikes 13

yes, wind make thing go bye bye indeed

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Is that why I get lifted every night? Is this the cause of my addictions?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Bernoulli's principle is also why it is impossible to blow a ping pong ball out of the top of a bottle- the air speeds up to get around 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The ball, creating low pressure and then the high pressure pushes the ball down. It also works blowing the ball downwards

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've seen this happen but just a couple of the sections flew off and almost hit my car

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

During a microburst storm in Virginia

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn, why would someone create such law ?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: Bernoulli's principal hated him. He was a resl know-it-all.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

a true blow-hard

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does that also explain why it happens to cars when driving on the freeway and I hear that FWAP FWAP FWAP sound on my open window?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is at least partially correct. I design commercial roofing systems. You design for both inside air pressure pushing the roof system up

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Damage is limited to the roof covering: a pressure differential must exist across the roofing membrane alone rather than across the assembly

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And for blowing winds that when hit the side of the building and also create a lifting force, especially in perimeter and corner areas

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Someone doesn't seem to have gotten that memo...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Only applies to closed systems, e.g., the inside of a pipe, and deals with the /change/ of V. Not appropriate here for a range of reasons.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

what?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Isn't this at least partly true, though? Bernoulli's principle explains lift for aircraft.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

No it doesn't. They put that in every general science textbook, and it is completely wrong.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I'm sorry but I disagree. Take some time and look it up. It certainly applies to wings.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Chemical engineer here, and youre wrong. His general principle is valid for calculating lift on an airfoil

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Its not the only principle in effect, but is definitely one of them

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

2/2 And even if it did, there is no mechanic to increase the velocity of air over the wing. Plus it doesn't explain angle of attack etc.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's what I thought too.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Then how do planes fly upside down.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's not valid for aircraft because it *has* to be a _closed_ system, with defined borders. A wing doesn't satisfy this.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Kind of looks more like the wind just catches the unsecured edge and blows it right off.

9 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 4

Yeah, but wind that strong would have likely blown the guy across the lot.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's how it starts. But the shape of the roof as it gets lifted increases lift even more, multiplying the effect.

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

There is no unsecured edge. This is only non-ballasted bituminous membrane which gets lifted by negative pressure. Roof deck still in place.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But you can see the edge. It's right there. It lifts off as though the wind is pushing it from below.
