Fighter dislocates shoulder and his opponent sets it back in place

In a word: sportsmanship

That's the I'm not done beating your ass move

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I played High School football I hit someone so hard I dislocated my shoulder. God I hate football.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reminded me of the fight at the end of Warrior

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's even better? Watch the ref's hands in the corner. He was about to call a doctor and stop the fight. Good sport gave up an easy win.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're not getting away from a ass whopping that easy.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Now I punch your face in. Yes?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

To be fair, he was trying to pull it the rest of the way off.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

By and large, MMA fighters are usually pretty friendly with each other when the fight ends. Many times the horn blows & they hug/high five.

If only the political climate was like this...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My favorite part of fighting sports is how civil people can be while wailing on eachother.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hahahaha the way his head bobs up after its reset, "oh!"

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Imagine if Mayweather encountered someone like that

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sighs, unzips

Fighters are hot.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That’s your fetish? Ok.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't be able to fight someone that had been that nice to me in a situation like that

8 years ago | Likes 355 Dislikes 0

Kinda how I feel with clients that are nice and then want me to step on their balls. I have yo hate them but I don't.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I would feel bad either way I would feel bad fighting someone who helped me. But I would also feel bad fighting the person j helped

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cause your a good human

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Is that true? Or just what you've been told

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not all natural "violence," such as sports or sex, are about negative emotions. Quite the opposite, often. :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You would for several thousand dollars

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would do my best to destroy him, since he obviously wanted me at my best. I would disappoint otherwise. But I would also lose. Badly.

8 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 0

Someone that caring you owe your best effort. Iron sharpens iron.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Thats a beautiful mindset

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To fight a man isn't always to hate him. For some, it can be a rather intriguing bonding experience.

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

At my buddys bachelor party most of us ended up fighting at least one person it was bonding except aaron he was an asshole still love him

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Indeed, combat and violence is as instinctive to man as breathing. Even Gandhi understood this to a point. The key is to block out hatred.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Going into it w/ personal grudges against your opponent underminds the sport. Its no different from the sparring fields of olde.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If it’s for sport it’s totally different! It’s a really interesting subculture

8 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

He really should have waited and let a doctor do that because if you fuck it up a vein could get under it and you could lose the arm

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

nerves too right

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yup, also he’s not very smart to keep fighting after an injury like that

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup, not to mention permanent damage to the cartilage inside the joint. Thanks for resetting my shoulder, now I've got a permanent 'click'.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That guy’s arm is gonna be messed up for life

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m screaming in terror right now and I can’t decide if I hate the post or this comment more

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

“Thanks man! Now let’s try to fuck each other up!” “Yeah boy! Come get some!”

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's fuckin dangerous to not let a health professional do it

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Not really. Those of us with shoulder issues like that fighter are bigger pros than the doctors. Both have been around dislocations a lot.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If that's the case, fair enough.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is not real life

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I’m tellin you what man I’ve seen more compassion and mutual appreciation out of fighters than in any other sport - a sport where the 1/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Goal is to beat the everloving shit out of your opponent. Idk just cool to witness.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Get over here, I'm not done kicking your ass yet."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ba-Dass!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Opponent thinking “ fuck that, I’m beating this guy tonight”

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not only sportsmanship. That's compassion and understanding. Fighting is for learning, not a stadium of hate and dominance. Growth.

8 years ago | Likes 3196 Dislikes 23

I agree! but it's also strategically smart to show compassion to your opponent; it's unexpected & therefore disarming

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

or literally disarming in this case lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not trying to sound negative or anything, but just the way this comment was writing it sounds like a Trump tweet lol. SAD!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 13

What?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was writing...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And a healthy dose of "that's not how I want to win."

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's a game, it's a competition. It's not war. You aren't burning each others cities to the ground.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

A real competitor wants to beat their opponant when they're at their best.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Ref didn't call time out. Chance to sucker punch him! Protect yerself at all times!" - Floyd Mayweather Jr.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oss!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nicely put.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fighting is the ultimate test of critical thinking. If your strategy is bad, you find out real quick

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Apparently it's a bit of both in Canadian Hockey; two opposing players may brawl for a bit, then pat each other on the shoulder.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He should’ve let a doctor do if a nerve got under the joint he could lose the arm continuing to fight will cause cartilage damage

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

cheers

v

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

¡Rei!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fighting is literally for dominance.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

Intent is important, it's not to prove who's better, for us to learn our weaknesses and grow. It's exposure to new styles and learning from.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, sure you can fight for any reason, even be angry you lost. Anger is fear, martial arts gives us ways to control this and grow.

Puss in boots series

What is this? I am not familiar with this.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

There are still gentlemen in the world of boxing and combat sports.

8 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

Well, until the CTE makes Swiss cheese of their brains.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sportsmen.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Majority of the Muay Thai fighters are gentleman. Great sportsmanship shown regularly

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I trained muy thai. It's very respectful to sportsmanship, of course there are some bad apples but yeah.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hard sport, much respect.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Where da fuck is maywedder

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Haha seriously tho he’s like the complete opposite of that

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He probably just knew what the problem was and isnt a douche.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, yes.

"still gonna whoop your ass, tho....." - both of them, probably

As someone with two broken & dislocated shoulders, if I was ever to be attacked I’d hope that my attacker would wait and help me pop it in

8 years ago | Likes 1035 Dislikes 3

use your legs!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How’d you manage to do that?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think I know you.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That pop feels so good

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve been super lucky that there was always a physical therapist present when I️ dislocated my fingers and toes. Gymnastics, man...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Omg you can dislocate fingers and toes?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oooohh yeah. Each joint in each finger/toe can be dislocated. Dislocated three toes in one fell swoop once. It did not feel great.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had to tell my friend over the phone how to reset his dislocated shoulder by himself. The sooner you can do it, the better.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone in the same boat, if my arm were to dislocate, id be swinging like my life depended on it.

8 years ago | Likes 118 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

Yeah, no. Your arm hurts like hell, to the point of being distracting. You're not punching with a dislocated shoulder, barring cocaine.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There just... so many ways to go about this comment.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mark?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope. But tell Mark I said Hello!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh hi Mark

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

thats how mine got injured lol

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I got my right shoulder dislocated during a basketball game and my left during breakdancing practice.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>:(

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i am not really clear on why the shoulder popped in the first place ... he wasnt doing anything with his left

8 years ago | Likes 538 Dislikes 4

The force and a previous dislocation can make it easy to pop out. First time I dislocated my shoulder I fell on the right side of my

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In a bike accident. Left shoulder got dislocated. Didn't know until like next morning because the adrenaline and I instantly drank way too

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Many beers. Happened in front of friend's house. It wasnt fully dislocated to the point of not being able to move it. But damn it hurt like

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hell popping it in place. I can now almost pull my shoulder out of socket because of tissue not healing fully

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It probably doesn’t take much. That shoulder is insanely loose. He could just move the wrong way and pop it out. Or the weight of the glove

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Labral tear. The cartilage that holds the ball into the socket tore at some point. Never heals, much easier to dislocate again.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup. It sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You underestimate the acceleration of the rest of his body

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Once your rotator cuff is f*ked, it doesn't really take much to dislocate it, or to pull it back, but it hurts like hell

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Not always pain. When there is a tear, it is easier and less painful to dislocate.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His Right punch pulled the shoulder away from the arm.

8 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 2

It's clipped. He dislocated it prior to the beginning of this clip. Clips old.

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Ah, thanks

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Once you screw a shoulder up, it doesn't heal right and is easier to pop out. The soft tissue doesn't regenerate the same way.

8 years ago | Likes 418 Dislikes 0

Dislocated my right and tore the muscles (SLAP tear). permanently "separated" as a result and goes in and out.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haven't had a good shoulder since high school. Doing simple things that shit just pops out.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I managed to "soft fix" mine with gym, and growing some muscle, but it helped that I injured it at around 12 years of age, still not perfect

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Same with hips

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup, have had two repairs done on my right shoulder and i will forever have pain and never be able to do manual labor anymore. I am 31...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm going for my third repair in a few weeks. It sucks. I'm 23 and a professional flutist that can't even hold a flute.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was told there is no third chance for me, I am sorry about that! Perhaps there is a way for you!! Keep your head up!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh man! My first two were with a good surgeon. When I started to get worse again, I went to a super specialist that changed the whole story.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

17 dislocations for me and counting at this point.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When I first tore my labrum, my shoulder would sublux and dislocate hundreds of times a day :/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup, sublaxted mine and fucked my labrum. I compensated by bulking up the surrounding muscle but it pops out in my sleep at random sometimes

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

When I tore my labrum, my shoulder would pop out hundreds of times a day. After tons of pt we found out I have EDS.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Going for my third surgery in a few weeks!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy fuck that's terrible I hope the procedure helps. Also what's EDS?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

what if you can dislocate your shoulder at will?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Still hurts when ot happens accidentally and youre not ready for it...dont lie to me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then you be Martin Riggs

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't! The more you do, the weaker the joint gets. Which will screw you over eventually.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I knew an inmate that did that to get Valium.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then you need to strengthen your rotator cuff muscles, big time.

I do have EDS but even if you don't, any subluxation will weaken the joint and can cause major issues.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or have your joint looked at, you may have a shallow cup.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I can pull mine out of its socket and put it back just by flexing my shoulder muscles with no pain.It helps I can't feel half of my left arm

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well don't! Just because you can and it doesn't hurt does not mean it is not bad for you!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot more than rotator cuff.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah it needs surgery to tighten it up again and even that isnt perfect.

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 1

Yup. I'm going for my third shoulder surgery in a few weeks.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I hope you get good results!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks! I'm confident :)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah that needs surgery. that shoulder is waaaaaay too loose

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shoulder injuries don't fully recover. The joint has such a wide range of motion. Count yourself lucky if both yours are still fine.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A shoulder that pops out ounce will likely do it again. Had a friend in HS whose shoulder popped out every few months. First time was playin

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hockey as an 11yr old.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My shoulder popped out hundreds of times a day when I first injured it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

once a shoulder goes loose, it never goes tight again. popped one out doing jumping jacks once, years of pt later, I still cant do a pushup

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same boat. They once had me try to plank in pt and it hurt way worse than the initial injury. Never again.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just want to know how he’s so chill about. From what I know, putting it back in hurts like a bitch.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You get used to it

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He hits people and gets hit for a living.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends. If its a clean dislocation than it doesn't hurt that much.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

when the shoulder is out of socket, all instincts are shut down. your only desire is to get it back in place.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He has probably done it before and in his profession he usually takes alot of pain but he was deffinately struggling to keep his hands up

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Adrenaline is a very strong natural pain killer, & thorough training time,

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Afterwards is when it's going to hurt.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only the first dislocation hurts terribly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hurts less with each reoccurrence, IIRC

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So very true. It doesn't hurt at all for me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anymore, that is.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How many times have you dislocated yours?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You must be young, to think that body parts need a reason to go wrong...

8 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 3

This comment made me laugh harder than anything else on imgur in quite sometime

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This speaks to me on such a level.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Like your pillow slightly too high level and now your back hurts level?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like a "sometimes if I'm just existing my muscles will freak the hell out" level.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why do they do this!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I slept wrong and have had a sore neck for 3 days now!

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I hurt my back almost a year ago and am just starting regain lower back strength. Took a big shit 2 nights ago and now I'm blind.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dude, I threw my neck out for days because I yawned and turned in bed at the same time.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Me too. Turning my torso to look behind me n shit

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

a hearty sneeze once blew my back out for like 4 days one time... =\

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apparently my gf slept on her vagina last night. :D

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

Mine slept on hers our wedding night.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is the joke that you have a gf? Haha I get it, because you're alone

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I also slept on her vagina!

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Touché, good sir. Touché

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’m kind of stunned that he just tugged it back into place. What if he screwed that up?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Probably indicates he's from a poor community. A lot of fighters are from cultures that don't have sports medicine clinics.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He looks like he's done that before. It's a common injury in fighting sports, so he's likely encountered the same situation before

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I knew a rodeo cowboy who could do it too

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
