It depends highly on the species. Many parrots can outlive their owners, though parakeets generally live about as long as dogs.

Yep, angry (caw) or cute (chirp) are about the majority of sounds our Amazon makes too. Sort of "yes" or "no" to whatever is going on.

(1/?) I feed a blend of pellets, dried fruits, fresh fruit/veg, minimal seed, and peanuts for treats. Grind toe nails/beak about every 3 mo

(2/?) bath with showehead mister every other week. Daily time out of cage on play tree and exploring the house. Same routine about daily.

(3/?) he was wild caught as a baby and imported to the us. (This stopped abt 35 yrs ago) I’m his third owner, but all in the family.

if he was caught as a baby, chances are nil, most are too used to relying on humans for food and wouldn't know how to forage - and 1/2
