Update: Since many people are insinuating I am a horrible cat abuser, this happened due to a loud noise from my speakers spooking the cat. This triggered a cat fight with my other cat, I then attempted to break it up. Both cats are fine and will be attending a vet in the morning. Would have specified that if I fucking understood Imgur.

Update 2: I am bringing both myself and the cat to the doctor/vet today, I sincerely appreciate everybody's concern and help. I had a pretty nasty view of Imgurians when I posted that update, but after explaining the situation people became much more understanding. Again, thank you.

Keep us updated on your upcoming super powers

You have a tooth in your fucking arm. How the fuck does Imgur think you ripped it out of his face?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fuck those guys! I'm sure you're a great cat owner.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You ded

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

You should definitely see a dr. I got bit by my cat once and my arm swelled up and got infected. Hope the kitties r ok too.

Watch out for Pasturella and Cat-Scratch Fever (Borrelia? Coxiella? Can't remember)

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Bartonella. Borrelia is Lyme disease.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

lol that update though. Why do people make such retarded assumptions with so little info

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Bro this can infect you really bad. Kitties and all broken teeth suck, but you kinda need to get to a doc asap too...

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That means you won

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR AND GET TREATED. That WILL ABSOLUTELY GET INFECTED. PLEASE. Cat bites are narrow and deep; you can't clean it.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Get some human antibiotics, cat bites can get nasty fast.

By cat do you mean Nibbler?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If the cat is black, rename it 'toothless'.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It is actually, I saw that's a very popular name for tortoiseshell calicoes

I doubt you'd be showing it off if it were abuse. Some people just enjoy drama. Watch out though, you'll be a cat on the next full moon.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Cat abuser was not the first thing that came to my mind. Good on you for making sure your cats didn't hurt each other.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Love that some people's first thoughts are that you must abuse cats. I mean maybe you got attacked by a feral cat. @SmilinSkull

Please see a doctor as soon as possible. My son was hospitalized and in isolation for 3 days for a cat bite.

9 years ago | Likes 108 Dislikes 4

As a doctor, I agree. Remove the tooth. Soap and water to wash it out thoroughly. And go see a doctor for antibiotics.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

For what?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cat bites have high infection rates and carry specific bacteria. Cat bites routinely get antibiotics to decrease chance of nasty infection

Yes please go yourself. My cat bit me on the hand. Doc said if I waited one more day I'd lose part of it. Had to be on IVs.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My vet in AL said docs are required to report cat bites, just like they would a dog. My cat was unharmed, I was too scared to get treated.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This was years ago - got lucky and had no infection/repercussions.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was years ago; got lucky and had no infection/repercussions. Got in the way of new catnip toy - she was as surprised as me, lol.

Or maybe because cats are just cunts

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Some people just want to start a fight for any reason.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 15

Aye

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 12

It won't kill the cat, but looks like enough to expose the pulp. Cat is likely in pain. @smilinskull be careful cat doesn't lash out!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The cat is fine, will be seeing a vet in the morning.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

But in all seriousness @op cat bites that pierce the skin have a VERY high chance of becoming infected. It's the nature of their bite. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes. In her teens, my kid volunteered at a cat shelter & was bitten. She spent 3 days in hospital on IV or she'd have lost use of her finger

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would get it checked... Unless I lived in a country where I had to PAY for a checkup, then I would nuke it with an alcohol based rub 2/3

And then the witch doctor / He told OP what to do / He told OP / "Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang / Walla walla, bang bang"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP you need to kill the glenmoril witches and burn one of their heads in the fire inside Ysgramors Toomb. Or become a vampire lord.

But then you gotta deal with witchHMOs and apothecaries, better off going to a one-stop shaman or something.

I got bit by my car while rescuing her from a stray dog. Wound up with "blood poisoning" and was hooked up to IV penicillin for 3 days.

What was the dog doing to your car?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Drown that shit in iodine and then both of you go see a doctor.

9 years ago | Likes 1132 Dislikes 8

I ended up in the hospital and with a brace for 3 months due to a cat bite infection. It did major damage to the tendons in my arm.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. My mom almost lost a finger because of the infection. GO SEE A DOC ASAP.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

The wound, not the cat.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I legit know a woman who died from a cat bite. Horrific :c go to the doctors.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only if you care about the cat...

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 7

Instructions unclear, cat got an amoxicyllin script, I got a flea & tick treatment.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Go to the doctor. My vet lost partial use of his hand from a cat bite that infected the bone.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This x1000. I had a dumbass friend get bit by a cat, then went out party/dancing. She ended up in the hospital for over a week .

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

80% of cat bites get infected. 10 minutes contact time will help negate that. I'm a vet tech I have been bitten and scratched so many times.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My buddy almost died from a cat bite. Got blood poisoning. Had to get blood transfusions for a week

9 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 1

To be fair though, it was a dirty dumpster cat

9 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

Yep same...I got a cat bite in my wrist - basically cat spit injected directly into my veins. Was on an antibiotic IV drop for a week. :(

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Doesn't matter, cat bites and human bites are the worst, second only to Comodo dragons....

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Haha I actually have another friend who almost lost his hand by punching a guy in the teeth

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

All these people saying go to a doctor... in my day, I got bit by a big barn tomcat on my knee, a huge chomp... still got the scars >>

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 25

Parents took me inside, put me in a sleeping bag. I assume cleaned it with something, and then good to go

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 20

"I've gotten bit by mosquitoes loads of times and I'm fine, why are all these people in Africa whining about malaria?"

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

But did it make you gay?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What was the point of the sleeping bag? To keep you contained?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

To stop him from getting revenge.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But the cat was outside and he was inside

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got a cat bite that made the muscles in my wrist & forearm seize up as the infection spread. Strong antibiotics worked, thank fuck.

I was bitten when my cat got scared of a dog and went to the doctor the next day's morning. My arm had already turned red. You need a shot.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 8

Hell yes. Cat bites are practically guaranteed to get infected. Boss was hospitalized for 4 days b/c a bite like this got infected.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cats've some particularly nasty pathogenic bacteria in their saliva; now it's under his skin. Better to pick up some antibiotics to be safe.

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

In many cases you a bite may not get infected, but I have heard of dozens of cases just in our small ER when people had solid infections /1

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

some even followed by necrosis and amputation of fingers or spreading sepsis because people don't take it seriously /2

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

If it's a purely indoor cat, you'll be fine, I get scratched/bitten on a daily basis, don't even bother cleaning them anymore.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 12

Yea but that looks like it went a little deeper than the average bite.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doesn't matter if it's a feral or house cat, they all have specialised bacteria in their mouths to deal with cleaning themselves 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Always best to get a cat bite checked out; I've been bitten by 6 cats so far while out on rescues, fostering & by my own cats 2/?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sometimes I've needed antibiotics other times there's not been a reaction to it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But they lick their asshole

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So what? People do too.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Are you not understanding the hygiene issue with a cat who has fecal matter in it's mouth and it entering your body via penetration??? ?¿??¿

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

But you enter the home of fecal matter through penetration too? I don't understand

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Jeez just a joke

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Honest curiosity, will a doctor do anything beyond clean the wound if there's no signs of infection?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Animal bites are one of the things that often need antibiotics. We usually irrigate them like you wouldn't believe to prevent infection.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

think it mostly depends where you are, here in the US most doctors would probably hint at giving broad-range antibiotics "as a precaution"

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yea, cat scratch fever is common even with wounds from house cats.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a specific pathogen found in cat saliva- very serious

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not probably, and not hint, they'd prescribe Augmentin or something similar.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cat bites almost ALWAYS are infectious if they break the skin. While I have yet to have a cat bite break the skin, Working as a vet tech-

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

-I have seen numerous bites, and only one wasn't seen by a doctor immediately after... Her hand swelled up like a balloon

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and if OP actually let the damn tooth in, there is absolutely no doubt that it's going to get infected...
