This morning, the largest white supremacist rally in decades formed this morning in Charlottesville , Virginia. The group meant to protest "political correctness". The protest turned violent quickly, as the supremacists clashed with anti protestors who blocked their path. Governor Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency to "aid state response to violence". State police and national guard had cleared the area before noon, but not before serious injuries were made. Multiple arrests occurred, and at one point a car plowed into a group of anti protesters. Injuries made are unknown at this time. Both groups threw projectiles at each other, and pepper spray could be seen being used. Updates will be made on future events today.
EDIT #1: Donald Trump has condemned the protest on twitter, stating that "there is no place for this kind of violence in America". This statement was backed up by Vice-president Pence, as well as Ivanka Trump. This response was attacked by David Duke, former leader of the KKK, who stated that trump was made president by white Americans.
EDIT #2: one of the anti-protesters hit by the car driven by a protester has died. The driver has been apprehended and is now in custody.
