Palladium is a fairly easy RPG system in terms of mechanics, so this game was fun to run. And with a mix of everything (sci fi tech, magic, psionics, interdimensional beings, mutants), there was something for everything.
Cool lore and great illustrations. The main rulebook has a couple sets of colorplates.
Lots of sourcebooks. I never used most of them but they were fun to read for all the world building and cool player classes, tech, and monsters.
And the TMNT game was compatible with Rifts, as a Palladium game.
TMNT stood really well alone as a game too, especially for younger kids. Again, fairly simple mechanics and lots of options for PC customization.

Played it once, it was fun.

Ah Rifts, I had a lot of fun with it back in the day. The rules, IMO, are kind of a mess, and it's where game balance goes to die, but something about the setting was like nothing else in tabletop. Good stuff

Don't miss Heroes Unlimited!

When I was 15 I tried to design my own RPG based off of this so my friends and I would have something unique to play, but nothing compares to the original. 10/10

Man I remember Rifts. It's what got me into D&D. Spent like 2.5 days trying to figure out how to read the rule book and build a character, gave up and joined my friends D&D game instead.

RIFTS! So much fun! You could have a Verotech fighter, piloted by a mutant hamster, fighting off a drugged up juicer! Perfect game for a Role Player in their awkward years!!

THIS was the TTRPG I primarily played in my teens (as opposed to D&D)! Loved it, should convince my GM to run a game now.

Yah, the '80s were a heady time for gaming. Everyone was looking for the next big RPG.

Mahogany padre?
gtotherizzle
Single longest character creation in history, especially if you used sourcebooks. I loved it but never got to play more than once or twice per group

I tried to set up a group in 2019 and it kept falling through. Then Covid hit. I tried joining a group on roll20 but even that fell through. I loved Juicers and Techno Wizards
ShimmerinStrider
At least I never had to roll for anal circumference.

Clearly you've never played GURPS Supers.
