Induction stoves are great; but they're also orders of magnitude more expensive than anything else, and only work with iron or steel pans.

Induction is great, incredibly controlable, consistent, and used the world over by great chefs. I'm not one, but I do like a gas hob (1/2)

for a wok, but I have never tried a dedicated induction wok hob. But much of Asia does fine cooking with a wok on a standard induction hob.

Gas gives you more control as you can more easily heat up one area of a pan. Also good for flambeing. But no biggie for most home cooks.

You can't use non-ferrous cookware on induction. Gas is probably better for other niche uses, like wok burners. But yes induction is good.
