Spanish low-budget thriller where an ordinary man, Hector, accidentally travels back one hour and is forced to become more and more brutal in order to avert a series of disasters. Incredibly tense.

The 1960 original, based on H G Wells classic story. Journeying 800,000 years into the future, static in his machine and invisible to the outside world - watching wars and empires rise & fall behind him - George finds mankind has changed into two different races. Ignore the 2002 remake and watch this one.

Second entry on the list for director Terry Gilliam, this follows the adventures of a young boy who accidentally gets caught up in a gang of midgets who travel through time, robbing people. along the way he meets Robin Hood, Agamemnon, Napoleon, Satan, and God.

Slaughterhouse-Five

Based on the book by Kurt Vonnegut, Billy becomes "unstuck" in time and starts moving around his own life - as a soldier in the 2nd world war, a prisoner of war, his life in New York, and as a museum exhibit on another planet after being abducted by an alien race who perceive time differently to humans.

Planet of the Apes

The 1968 original. Forget the sequels and remakes, they have nothing on this. The incredible, revealing final scene is one of the most defining moments of cinema (and has been repeatedly copied, parodied and referenced ever since). If you don't know it already - go watch this film right away.
