Things to Try at McDonalds

Tea & Honey

You can order a hot tea and packets of honey! They will give you a cup of hot water and the tea bag already in the cup or on the side. You can also request creamers and lemon wedges.

CinnaMelt

Ask for a Cinna-Melt but FROZEN. They may look at you funny but you can stick that in your freezer at home and pop in the microwave for about 30 seconds for a treat at home. This was my own idea, so most stores may have never heard of this.

Grilled Cheese

Ask for a cheeseburger with no meat! It will be a simple grilled cheese sandwich. I suggest asking for extra cheese. Some parents would get this in their child's happy meal.

Fresh Fries

Oldest trick in the book: ask for fries with no salt to get fresh fries.

Mixed Milkshake

Ask for the milkshake flavors to be mixed! If there's no special shake offered you can even request a milkshake with "no flavor," just the cream.

Strawberry Lemonade

Request the strawberry syrup to be place directly in the blender and not in the cup. That way the drink is pre-mixed! Again another idea I made, not all restaurants may be favorable to do this for you.

Cheese

You can add cheese to anything, including the McChicken.

Sweet Tea

Don't like how sweet the tea is? Ask for it half & half. They will mix half unsweetened tea with half sweet. The perfect combination.

Mac Sauce

You can request the Big Mac sauce on any sandwich you want (usually with an upcharge). The restaurants I worked in would even put some sauce in a cup for dipping.

Oatmeal

You can order the oatmeal at any time of day. There are even varieties that don't have the brown sugar.

McGriddles

You can order just the plain McGriddle bread ends. Some customers have requested them with just a slice a cheese in the middle. They are also perfect for just dunking in the maple syrup.

Plain Bagel

You can request a plain toasted bagel with cream cheese. Great with strawberry or grape jam.

Breakfast Sauce

All bagel sandwiches come with a special breakfast sauce that I just loved. You can request extra of this sauce or even on the side.

Breakfast A La Carte

You can request any breakfast item A La Carte: such as a slice of sausage, scrambled eggs, a round egg (from the Egg McMuffin), and everything else.

Box of Cookies

Hopefully you can still order a box of fresh cookies! 13 cookies in a box for a low price. Since most restaurants don't have 13 cookies at a moment, they are usually cooked fresh, so be prepared to wait for the cookies to cook and cool.

McDonald Cookies

The cookies found in the Happy Meals are also sold in large quantities. But I'm not sure how available they are in most stores.

Happy Meal Toy

You can always buy a Happy Meal toy without the food for a low price. When collectible toys come around you can sometimes request a particular toy if it's available. Please don't yell at the employee if they don't have the one you're looking for. Restaurants don't usually have every toy in stock at once.

Extra Fudge or Caramel

You can request extra fudge or caramel on your sundae (for an upcharge). You can also mix and have half fudge and half caramel. Some restaurants may even allow you to add McFlurry toppings on the small sundaes, such as crushed Oreo or M&Ms (for an upcharge).

McCafe

Most of the McCafe drinks are somewhat customizable. For example, you can ask for an iced coffee syrup in a latte or cappuccino, such as a sugar-free vanilla, hazelnut or caramel. Additionally, you can add whipped cream and topping to any coffee drink (maybe for an upcharge).

Bags of Ice

Some restaurants still sell big bags of ice! My restaurants no longer do it, but we used to give them out in drive-thru even.

Cone in a Cup

Request an ice cream cone upside down in a cup. Perfect for kids that may make a mess in the back seat. (or yourself)
