8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Is this a demo or do they really serve it one slice? What dish is this?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its a thin cut of wagyu beef, which has very high fat content. you can have multiple slices or cuts.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So... Raw

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Las Vegas has 3 out of the 9 certified restaurants in the USA that carry real Kobe beef...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Had a sushi roll wrapped in this shit before. To date one of the best things I’ve ever eaten

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wagyu

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Wagyu =和牛=Japanese beef=any ole cow in Japan

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 6

Except they don't raise shitty beef in Japan. They import their shitty beef.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you get the USDA “prime” cuts of ribeye or tenderloin that’s about as good as is gets in the states. Stuff just melts in your mouth.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its actually "Japanese cow" for the four breeds of cattle that the beef is from. They've a genetic predisposition to higher fat content.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Me too...

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I’m not fat, I’m BIG BONED!!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had three slices (maybe 4oz) over a bed of seaweed and cabbage that cost $20. It just melted. IT JUST MELTED, CORAL!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Poor coral

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For the price of that little bit I bet I could get a plate of brisket, some sausage, and a side of 'tato salad. And a beer. #Texas

8 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 4

Make it a Lone Star.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I may be from the north but I can appreciate a good Texas steak.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I specifically logged in to give this comment a "hell yeah"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

People like to talk up japanese beef like it's three times better than some really good american beef. I'll take a ribeye.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I wonder how that compares to 10 hour brisket smoked with olive wood (yes, wood costs more than beef per weight) and feeds a dozen people.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Imma need about 10 if those, a hoagie roll, some onions and cheese whiz please.

8 years ago | Likes 388 Dislikes 14

Fuckin cheez whiz! I LOLed.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Cheese hwiz.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hell yeah. Make the most expensive cheesesteak ever.

8 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 2

Came back 3 posts as it hit me, just to give you upvote sir

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

oh god, dont destroy waygu beef with cheese wiz your monster !

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 20

It ain't a real cheesesteak without the wiz

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

I gotta agree, the first cheesesteaks I ever had were with good provolone. Ambrosia!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Depends on where you get it in my experience. Some places use different tasting or textures cheeses.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Taste is subjective. Waste is relative.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

And cheese whiz leads to waste

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Wait, that really *is* the difference with real Philly cheese steaks? Fuckin cheese whiz? I thought that cook was lying.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i feel like i'm wasting a fortune just watching this

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Do we get fries?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The coals he's using are also special, they emit no smoke, so any meat cooked on it is smoked from its own juices and not the coals.

8 years ago | Likes 146 Dislikes 2

If anyone wants to know where I learned it from, it was here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFhp2eg7f1Y It's a good show on Japanese food.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You’ve been watchin Ugly Delicious

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is the show I enjoy watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFhp2eg7f1Y

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

i dont know what that is

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

David Chang’s series on Netflix.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What kind of coals?

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

They sound like glass when you tap them together, I know that

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I dont know the japanese name for them, but they are Japanese White Coals. It's produced from 1 type of tree in Japan.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Binchotan charcoal https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binchōtan

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nah. I can get a Wagyu burger from Blueberry Hill at the Delmar Loop (St. Louis) for like. 13$. It's a pretty big burger, too. Damn good too

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Oh, right. I'm an idiot. It's *Kobe* beef that's expensive as fuck. Wagyu's not, by far.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

KOBE!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Dork :P

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not all wagyu is / from Kobe, but some are. A5 grade beef is the highest grade of wagyu. Check out Matsusaka beef too.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I didn't know that wagyu beef could be from Kobe? But I'm talking about specifically that Kobe beef is the expensive one, wagyu isn't. --

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I forgot that clarification in my initial posting.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Been to Japan a few times for work, wagyu beef is amazing. I actually got a very small steak maybe 4oz for about $15.

8 years ago | Likes 132 Dislikes 3

You mean dog meat

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

You could always tell when there was beef on sale at my local grocery store in Japan. It was like a mad rush.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That seems way too cheap to be wagyu

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm no beef guru, but it was really, really good. Far better than $40 steaks in the US.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It might have been, cause there are different levels of grading. A5 is the highest grade with highest price tag. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There are lower grades that are still good, but failed to achieve high grades. $15 for a 4oz barely sounds like A1 let alone A5

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've never seen Wagyu achieve anything less than an A4 and I've never seen Kobe achieve less than an A5.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What is it tho? It looks like cartoon beef...

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Some folks find it to be too fatty. It wouldn't be my thing, but props to others having something they can enjoy. If they can afford it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yes, it's very fatty, though I would describe it as almost oily, due to the fine marbling.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

From google, Wagyu is a breed of cattle. Still a cow, but it’s not the same as an Angus breed of cow.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To put it very simply, it's beef that has very high & fine fat marbling. Fat gives flavor. Examples of good vs bad steak

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I didn't understand the hype until I tried it in LA. It is life changing. I hear melts in your mouth, but never experienced it until then.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thats not even bad, paid $300 for a kobe dinner and it was worth every penny. Crazy how good their beef is

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I'll stick with some reasonable well marbled grass fed beef. I've had both, and I can't justify the price.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, theyre both great. Cant complain either way

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yep. TBH though, I don't like it when it looks to be like 50% meat to fat marbling.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you can’t tell the difference between wagyu and grass fed, you haven’t had the real thing. It literally dissolves in your mouth.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Have you ever tried just a big ol' spoonful of the real deal?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Didn't say I couldn't tell the difference. The difference isn't worth the price for me.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can get wagyu in the states now. It’s so good. Expensive though.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 5

Most of the Wagyu in the states isnt.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

What makes you say that?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

It is true, most „kobe beef“ anywhere but japan is mostly fake. They do have certificates though, so look out for that when buying!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Only 9 restaurants in the US are certified to have real kobe beef

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Alexander’s is one of my favorite restaurants. The steak is so rich, it’s a tiny piece but well worth it. & served w different salts.. omg

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Something Ive always been told regarding the beef industry. Just a ruse to get more cash.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Nice to know. Whole Foods carries it and charges like $30 a pound for it.
