Prosthetist here: Foam covers and skins can be added to modern endoskeletal legs to make them look "anatomical"

So basically, it’s performance over esthetics. I read that the older ones cause a bit of hip dysplasia on the remaining limb. 1/2

Apparently the weight disparity must be as minimal as possible between both the prosthesis and the remaining leg.

Prosthetist here: Anatomical legs are heavy. You'd have to add weight to even a wooden leg to get them equal. Suspension is most important
