Let's summon this bread.

Pippin tax!

Today's message from Pippin: "up."

______
1) Are you on the run to a safe place and passing through Arizona on your way to safer grounds? My apartment is open to you to crash at, and it is a safe space. Pippin and I will make you a meal and gladly share tea, wine, or mead with you.

2) Hey! If you're a woman or minority in a STEM field in Arizona living north of Phoenix and you need new headshots for this website or another detailing your experiences/research/accomplishment because our monstrous regime has deleted your experience from an official government website, PM me. Pippin and I have a good Nikon DSLR, and we'll do the photos for free, and, uh, you'll get to meet Pippin, I guess?

(If you know someone who could use this who's not on Imgur, feel free to PM me to get my email address for them and tell them they're free to message me.)

3) Take your meds with a full glass of water, please. Do it for Pippin, or Space Mom, or better yet, do it for yourself.

4) Ĝefeloað wē. We will carry on.

5) all funds from the sales of items at these two links will be sent to support charities aiding to fight for Trans rights in the US (not just T-shirts!)

#26 My favorite arcane hobby. Like any good wizard a good band should have a lengthy back catalogue, like all the Linkin Park fans who had no idea who Emily Armstrong was before last year and are now delving the mines of Dead Sara. What a treat for you!

My Wizard Coven approved of this dump.

#18 I can teach you Excel's secrets. Those of greatest power are in the Lost Speech, Visual Basic, in which I am yet conversant. It grants you power over Excel, and through Excel, even control over other applications. Even the Great Trickster, Word falls under its sway.

If I really wanted to show off (i.e. reveal what a suppurating nerd-booger I am) I'd tell you I know XLM. Not XML, XLM. I was there when the Deep Magic was written....

I dated a goth vampire wizard once and now I've been a giant one-eyed worm living in a cave under Hunedora castle for 700 years. Do not recommend.

#6 Well, considering what we find in Elminster's cabinets at The Blushing Mermaid, I think it's fair to say his home comforts are a bit more adventurous than Gale realises.

Having read some of the Elminster books, Gale clearly has no idea the kind of shenanigans Elminster has gotten up to.

#1 I want to be a gothy vampire, however I also want to be cozy and wear cardigans. And also slightly androgynous. I'll let you know when I find that magical formula. Still working on it.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just wear black, kind-of-lacy crochet cardigans.

Oooh, hell yeah, summoning that bread is the way to truly digest these grains ;)

#1 er... is it me you're looking for? I once breed a strain of UV resistance bacteria in my lab, I'm chubby so always warm and work in IT doing Global software updates ( yeah I'm THAT wizard), every dress shirt I own gas French cuffs, more than necessary have wingtips, and we need to bring cravates. Yes I do look like what happens if you display every Dr. Who simultaneously.

How are things going with the interviews? How are you doing?

1 year ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

They're going. Have to wait and see how I did, and how the next interview I have goes.

I mean, I'm an existential wreck, but whatever.

Job-hunting these days is soul-crushing. It's truly not you, hon, it's the wretched system. *hugs*

Hope all goes well with interviews and yourself.

#5' Can't believe I didn't notice this etymology for "wizard". We still have it's cognate in Dutch/Afrikaans: "wysaard". And plenty of other "aarde" (meaning something like "character") - luiaard (someone who is lazy), grijsaard (someone who is old/grey), lafaard (someone who is a coward) , etc. etc. Fascinating.

What do you call someone who has too many cats?

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Apparently, Foamingtoad.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's silly - there's no such thing as too many cats. :P

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Its in english too. a coward is too easily cowed, a drunkard drinks to much

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Okay, so I consider myself an armchair etymologist (and am actually a qualified linguist) and I never noticed these cognates. You have made my day, sir/madam!

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Aw thanks frend

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Here's a fun one. Mustard, the condiment, is something that is too pungent. "Must" being used in an aromatic sense.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh, I'm so glad I read this the following day - so now I can tell you, too, that you made my day! (I really, really like words...)
