Age have not granted me the ability to flex

I thought my early 20s would be the prime time of my life- when Id look the best and be the best. It truly wasnt. Chronic illness took a while to adjust to, but I found a way to manage it and now I am better than ever and making up for lost time.

Edit: since Im getting so many questions about it: the bruises on my thighs are from powercleans, the bruises on my biceps are from tire flips. I do powerlifting mainly and crossfit on the side. Generally love strength sports!
The chronic illness I mentioned is rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.

Enjoy being 50 and people thinking you're 35 :) (super cute and great effort btw! @op)

Wowza! That's amazing work!!! What motivated you on days when you didn't feel like working out?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No need for motivation, just make a routine out of it. I dont wanna go? Put on shoes, go anyway.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good for you, same could go for me. Except for the illness. For me it was just, you know, chronic drinking and over eating... keep it up!

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Adorable is better than sexy to me

8 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 6

I agree. It's easier for adorable girls to be sexy than for sexy girls to be adorable.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Boom! That’s why i told this girl I’m talking to

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Now kick that midgets butt who's been punching your thighs.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Maybe from dead lifts/deadlifting?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Deadlifts can ruin the shins from bar scrapes, i have some nice racing stripes. Those have to be from cleans.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’m guessing she takes a very wide grip on the bar.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More likely power cleans and power snatches. If you're getting bruises like that on your deadlifts you're doing it wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Looks like you lost 10 years!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I feel you I was fit as a kid, lost it at uni when my chronic condition worsened and I’m adjusting still. It gets easier every year though.1

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well done you.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly I’ve come to learn that your 20s are all about preparing yourself to live your best in your 30s. Good job!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You look fantastic! Plus, you know yourself better in your 30s.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

So at this rate you should disappear into another dimension by your 50's.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Ankylosing spondylitis? My mom has that! You bear it better than her though, it's given her a very hunched posture, so congrats on yours!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My posture is still a big problem, I definitely struggle with it, but I got into strength sports in order to try halt that typical AS Back!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice, great work then. How's your mobility? Can you still rotate your spine well? The doctors she had growing up all gave her bad advice.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its pretty decent. It gets bad sometimes, especially ribcage area. Sometimes trouble breathing. Yeah women especially with AS have been ->

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

<- historically not taken very seriously. Its upsetting. And so many have gotten bad advice because the dumb old view of«women are fragile»

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah it's really unfortunate. It's definitely put a clamp on her quality of life. Glad you've kept a better handle on yours, you look great!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a very overweight 29 year old guy, this gives me hope.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Cutting soda/juice helped me lose 30 lbs alone, try seltzer. Having a more active life helps lift the fog of depression as well. God bless♡

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never to late. You wont regret doing it.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

20's look like your mid-30s. 30's look like your late teens. Well done; clearly you are a wizard.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Someones doing some bar work :)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can I ask what chronic illnesses? I've recently been diagnosed with a couple and ended up bed bound guess I'm looking for inspiration thanks

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Rheumatoid arthritis (or JIA to be more specific) and Ankylosing Spondylitis. Bedbound sucks. Been there, wheelchair for a long time too

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As someone who’s had a chronic illness since 20 (now almost 29 and still suffering) you give me hope :)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Things looked really bleak for me too. I hope you find something that works for you! baby steps. I started with 1kg dumbbells and walking.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trying to get back to walking. Some drug interactions have been causing severe cramps. Rebuilding always sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn that sucks, I've only got fibromyalgia, and dissociative disorder (random fainting) but last one I had 1 day out of bed so my weight 1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As ballooned and the worst part is if had lost over 30 kilos all be it through anorexia but now I can't control anything it sucks

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im sorry, that sounds really rough :/
