On my uncles boat in a storm the boat crested a wave and fell faster than me. I landed on the stairs to the galley hard enough I broke them.

I held on to dear life not to do that on a passenger ship on the thermal undercurrent waters near Grenada
ISenseAChallenger
To do the what on the what at the where now?
SonderingStrike
Thermal Undercurrent (Water moving a different direction under the surface, creates turbulence) near Granada (South Spain)
Grenada, a Caribbean island, but yeah. Undercurrent created by a volcanic island near Grenada generates lots of waves so ships bounce up
And down like crazy. I was above deck and holding like crazy not to bounce off ship

Well you're already moving as fast as the ship is, so unless there was a significant force slowing you, you'd keep moving that fast

Significant force implying wind/etc
TylerDunkleberger
The wind around you isnt moving at that speed so the moment his feet leave the ground hes slowing down compared to the movement of the ship.
Wow I got disliked into oblivion how come?

At 20+knots, there's a lot of "wind" just from the ship moving forward through the air. Add a headwind, and you can almost fly.
I would love that

This is true for small combatant ships, but flight deck of an aircraft carrier covers everything from bow to stern and port to starboard.
Fair point, hadn't considered that onr.
