Grandpa Jiggs finally got to see his cubbies break the curse.
He's been a lifelong Cubs fan living in a Cardinals town. On and off hospice for a few months, but got to watch game 7, and see something he's wanted to since he was a boy. We always joke he'll outlive us all, just glad he got to outlive the curse. From one Cards fan/grand-son-in-law/husband to a "GD Saint Louisian", "Way to go cubbies."

*plot twist -Grandpa was the curse. He died in the 9th inning allowing Cubs to win.

What I also find interesting is that my grandpa's nickname is 'Jiggs!' I've never heard of anyone with a nickname close to that!

Just about every Cubs fan has a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle, who lived and died a full life without seeing this happen. Sobering.

I always thought that idea of a curse was stupid. And while I am disappointed that Cleveland didn't get it, this is great for Cubs fans. :)
