Accurate-ish. It absolutely should not have happened and is certainly racially motivated. However, Crystal was not sentenced to 5 years. Her probation was revoked, sending her back for the remainder. Accuracy is important.

All citizens should be eligible to vote. This right should not be able to be taken away. I don’t care if you are an incarcerated mass murder with a lifetime sentence, if you are a citizen, you should be able to vote. Being able to remove the ability to vote is a form of control over democracy that shouldn’t be allowed.

You missed the important bit - required to testify against other members of the conspiracy. People who flip get light sentences. That said, the other sentence is ofc completely obscene.

And the other important bit that Crystal filled a provisional ballot under direction from poll workers. A ballot specifically designed for people uncertain of their eligibility to vote that goes under additional checks before it is counted. Her vote was rejected by those checks. It never counted. She did everything right under direction of officials.

The Crystal Mason case is soooooo much worse than that. She didn't know if she was eligible to vote. She asked the election judge (who was her neighbor and aware of her ineligibiligy as a conviced felon), who deliberately lied and told her she was and to cast a provisional ballot. Once she did, he called his buddy, the local sheriff and notified him of the crime he had just entrapped her into committing.

But they didn't actually have to pay a cent. Joe shmoe ges arrested for being purple, 10k bail means 1k upfront, bail bondsmen charges $100.00. Charges are dropped on Joe, they were looking for a chartreuse guy. So, being arrested for a crime he did not commit and was found *not guilty* of any crime, costs our friend Joe $100. Santos, however, will NOT have to pay a fee, nor will the people who 'paid' his bond.

It is a RICO case. Her conviction is enough to get Trump sentenced. Every conviction strengthens the RICO case. The more they can pile on, the harsher it is for those who do not plea. And all that testimony will remove any possibility of doubt in the final verdict. Crossing every t and dotting every i in this case is critical to preventing an overturn by a corrupt SCOTUS. Or at very least making that overturn blatantly and openly corrupt to even the most biased watcher.
