They are really trying to find something to give validation for the billions they have sunk into making their AI systems.
But the fact is, there simply isn't any real use case for image generation 99% of the time. Image processing there is a fair amount of uses for it, but the generation it's only good for slop.

Also, it's painfully obvious anyone and everyone smart enough to have seen the dangers and sheer stupidity of just letting AI loose on the world and then forcefully shoving it down our throats was a bad idea and unsafe were fired from every department who could have spoken up or seen this coming. Yeah, I saw that as one of their examples of GOOD usage, and I thought "that looks terrible." It's like when Nvidia boasted about their AI slop filter for video games, and seemed baffled when people pointed out all the errors and the visual changes it made not in line with the original game's visual style. They've drunk the Kool-Aid, and can't imagine anyone isn't impressed by their AI slop generator.

Also came across some posts pointing out that not only was that filter ruining the visual style, it also made games harder to play by doing random shit like turning up the brightness of darker areas the designers had deliberately left dark to signal to the player that there was nothing all that important there while they made the critical path brighter and eye-catching, so the filter just eliminated visual clues of where to go.

Sometimes, I wonder if this was all for good intentions. Like these corporations knew, this tech was about to blow up with every corporation, so they worked to give the tool to everyone and not just the powerful and elite.
