First FP Post? - Do I ask for bobs?

I understand. ATM I am very depressed. When it's quiet like that is the only relief I get these days.

Protip; Go to sleep at 22:00, get up 04:00. Same thing only now you have a nice long morning

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah so, that's called depression....

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Working 11pm-7am is the best. If you can adjust. So quiet, no traffic, no stress. I've worked nights for almost 4 years.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are not alone.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was literally just thinking about this very thing just a couple hours ago. It feels like everyone is asleep but me and I can breath

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am jacks wasted life....but i get it.

Get up at 4.30am and feel the same thing with a sunrise at the end

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same here. Also gives me plenty of time to get ready for work

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can hear the crackheads next door fighting, and groups of Asian lads blaring their music and revving their engines

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ever go for a late night walk in a town (avoiding sketchy places of course) its awsome. a whole town to yourself

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One of the best feelings is to walk down a busy highway at day in the middle of night not seeing a single headlight

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

youre my kind of person OP

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You’re my kind of OP person

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am Jack's Pathological Insomnia.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am jacks colon

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's a slippery slope my man. A bad sleep schedule can induce depression and low self worth. I understand the urge, I often slip into bad>

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

> sleeping habits, drawn in by the promise of peace, quiet and finally finishing breath of the wild but the ramifications can suck. A month>

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

> of your life can melt away and you're left disliking yourself. That said, I'm an internet commenter not a psychologist. Party on x

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Absolutely true. It’s a slippery slope into chaos. You can’t get anything done because you’re always tired and in a cycle of procrastination.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Exactly.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No consequences? If I don't go to bed at 10:00pm at the latest, then when I rise at 5:30am, I'm just a dead man walking...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Quiet enough to hear all the voices in my head.

7 years ago | Likes 180 Dislikes 2

It's a .... maaaaaad world!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You hear the voices too? *picks up bolter*

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh neat im not alone

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They talk at night because they know you'll hear them. Are you friendly to them? I treat it as a townhall and I'm the mayor.

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That's just the other human telepaths, some people can only hear them if theyre in a quiet environment that allows subtle voices to be heard

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

They can also communicate voices through sound, lots of people believe this to be a symptom of schizophrenia because they lived without

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Hearing them for a large portion of their life. Fair warning they can be assholes if you start hearing them spontaneously without warning

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I find netflix helps to drown them out, at least a bit

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Whiskey really drowns them out.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gotta say, a few glasses of jack does tend to do the trick

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate sleeping because I get really sad dreams. Like I cry in my sleep and wake up in tears dreams. Idk why.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Stop talking about them or remembering/retelling them. Doing so helps you remember and reinforce the same kinds which u don’t want!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This is the first time I've ever mentioned them. But thanks.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the moon w as so bright tonight the snow was bright like day had blueish light on it

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reading this at 3:58am. I feel you.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glad to see I’m not alone in this.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The older I get. The more I get this guy...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Strangely enough the same thing happens when you sleep...

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Wait, you're conscious when you sleep? Someone call a doctor we got a medical miracle over here!

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Relatable

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like it too so I get up at 3 or 4am. Fully rested and it is quiet.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same here! And it's a great time to get work done.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No consequences except for being sleep deprived if you have to be up the next day for work.

7 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 1

Or the results of anything you do, good or bad lol

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I cant sleep at night cuz i get this weird feeling like its a waste of time. Like i could be doing something instead of knocking out for 6hr

7 years ago | Likes 378 Dislikes 2

As someone living under a multi-week sleep deficit, trust me, sleep is not a waste of time.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's why I smoke crack, can't waste time sleeping if you don't need to sleep

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Benjamin Franklin would switch to a cold bed 5 times a night because he thought a warm bed would sap your soul and make you unproductive

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone with medical insomnia, my culture is not your hobby ( I’m kidding, I know how u feel bruh)

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Kind of like saying charging your phone is a waste of time cause you could be using it. Not sleeping will melt your brain.

7 years ago | Likes 156 Dislikes 3

Kind of like saying charging your phone and using your phone at once saves time. Which equates to: use cocaine to stay up and save time

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You can use a phone while charging it tho

7 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

Brains ARE used while "charging" > dreams > maintenance mode. You just don't consciously remember or control it but it's necessary

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Think of it this way: your brain IS working - it’s processing your memories and producing protection/repairing damage so you can function

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lack of sleep will make you more susceptible to feeling pain, catching sickness, developing depression, etc

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But its gonna heat up and decrease its lifespan.

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

I've only ever had that issue while using the Imgur app and that happens regardless of charging because the Imgur app is actually trash.

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Bold of you to assume I want to live

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

fer real??

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

no, non tech people make up a lot of hysteria- sauce- am technical person

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You don't happen to have ADHD do ya?

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Hope not

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dreams are so vivid and amazing sometimes I feel a lot more alive than ever when I'm sleeping

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

My dreams are very vivid, I remember 95% of them

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Every single night. I love it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dreams are more vivid when I drink. I don't remember them at all when I'm sober.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same here but everytime I stop drinking for long enough, I notice they get even better after a while

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You could be doing other productive things....like watching porn or telling imgur about it

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For me it's not that I can't sleep, just that I don't want to sleep, for this reason. I hardly remember my dreams so sleep is just emptiness

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The feeling for me is this: the time before sleep is mine, the time after I wake up is theirs. It's an illusion, but one I can't shake.

7 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

what's true is never an illusion.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Try to shift your schedule, I'd get up 3-4h before work and take a nice long bath in the morning, made everything so much easier

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I might give that a try. Not a bath, though. I'd drown. Sleeping disorders suck. ;)

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've fallen asleep in baths many times actually, not once drowned funny enough even though I roll on my side too. Good luck!!!!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have slept like 4 hrs/night most of my life for that reason. It’s stupid, unhealthy and I don’t actually use the time wisely. But hey.

7 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Because it feels like your time and you're using it how YOU want and not doing what somebody else wants you to

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why do we need sleep?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Freaking tell me about it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait until I tell you about Provigile...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I completely understand this feeling. I get the same way especially if it's snowing.

7 years ago | Likes 971 Dislikes 4

Try my life

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right!?!? When it's nighttime and gently snowing I just stare out the window for a good long while and feel....something. It's powerful.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Freezing rain and ice is the best. It feels like everyone is trying not to break the glass that has encased the world.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or on acid. The world is a different place at 4am when you're alone, tripping balls, and wandering around outside.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bruh 45cm today

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are not special. You're not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else. Lets make soap

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Always actually wanted to try it. Read that book a lot in high school

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone who lives in a city (Montreal) snowy weather is NOT peaceful. All night long you hear snow plows and loud noises and tow trucks.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Omg yes!

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

My favorite part of snowmobiling is riding somewhere remote, and just sitting there enjoying in how amazingly quiet it is.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

or raining

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We'd be friends irl

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too. But then I fall asleep at work and my boss makes me feel bad about myself :(

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like to look outside and watch them fall

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yes. Fuck yes. During/after a fresh, heavy snow is one of the few moments where I can find true, blissful peace!

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Snow makes me feel calmer because it quietens everything. Snow absorbs sound. When it's snowing, there's plenty (1/2)

7 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

of space between snowflakes, meaning that there is also less space for sound waves to bounce around! 2/2

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I'm looking forward to tonight as it's just snowed in my area and there's a lunar eclipse and blood moon. Hoping to get some photos

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I too would be flattered if you posted pics of this nature.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Midwest?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Correct. About 20 minutes east of St. Louis metropolitan area.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Would be cool if you could share those photos if you can get some.

I'll take them periodically through the eclipse and post them tomorrow when I get a chance to review. Stay tuned :)

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm still getting the hang of my new camera. I didn't really get much worth sharing unfortunately. Amateur here

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Taking a solo walk in a heavy snow with little-no wind is my favorite. It's happened twice.

7 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 0

Beautiful space to be in. I love doing that as well.

7 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Everything is silent. Very peaceful

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The best walk I had was during a snow storm like that. Heavy snow, no wind and 3 am. A snowy owl flew 10 feet in front of me. Best walk ever

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

That kind of silence is beautiful.
