Reminder: this is from 2009, it is much much worse now. Numbers that may help you find out where you might be. If you make over 200k as a household you’re likely in the top 10%. Over 400k? Likely somewhere in the top 1%. As a household. If you make 100-200k you’re the other 10% of the top 20%. The rest is basically in increments of 25k

Just work harder and pull up on your bootstraps duhhhhh

Get the fuck out of you're talented. They can't exploit you if you don't work for any of them. Teach those dicks a lesson.

They told my generation to shut up and be happy. When the guillotine are being built, we will do just that.

I’m pretty sure that a good population knows the last one is reality. It’s fucking disgusting and needs to change.

Maybe now, but this was 2009

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they don't have that kind of wealth. it's mostly stock market nonsense that can disappear overnight, not scrooge mcduck's coin vault

What percentage of the Top 20% are professional athletes?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I still feel that nothing presents it better than Pixel Wealth. Life-changing perspective shift. https://mkorostoff.github.io/1-pixel-wealth

I need to know why it says 4th highest 20% and not 2nd highest 20%

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yeah I tried to figure out why it said that for way too long. It definitely should be 2nd highest.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know it’s a weird choice of words. But there’s 5 groups and that’s the “4th highest” group compared to say the “2nd lowest”

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

So then its.... 2nd highest, 4th lowest?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fuck.. ya it’s a terrible choice of words

Until Americans start to drag the rich into the streets and do what needs to be done nothing will change.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Until wealth equity returns the rich should assume at least 75% of the tax burden

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Also a good one. https://mkorostoff.github.io/1-pixel-wealth/

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I can't. It's depressing

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At first I was like "Oh, that's not nearly as bad as I thought-" then I saw the dates. It's as bad as I thought isn't it.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s worse. Economy’s like this are extremely fragile. It is going to fail. Hard. As it always had when it’s like this. And 95% of us will

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Feel the worst of it. Hopefully after the fighting and suffering we rebuilt it better. And don’t let it slip again. But probably not

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The percentiles don't add up

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not sure how you're looking at it, but they do for me.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do you know which class you're in? I never understood what middle class and second lowest cost and all of that stuff meant.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Theoretically, middle class means working 8 hours entitles you to roughly 8 hours of someone else's labor.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I edited for you. I’m sure others had that question to, thanks for pointing it out. Also those are rough based off data not exact. But close

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well only about 10% of households make over 200k, another 10% are around 100-200. The other 80 are under that woth about 18% or so at 75-100

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

TIL I'm somehow considered in the top 20%. Sure doesn't feel like it, but I know I have it better than many.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s because you are really in what should be considered the middle class. The wealth gap is just so insane it puts you in the top 20

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Assuming your household income is somewhere between 100-250k

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like this one, personally: https://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/z1/dataviz/dfa/distribute/chart/#range:2006.4,2021.4

Thank you

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I also want to point out that there's a huge difference between top 20% & top 1%. Million vs billion is a billion.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

. also tax the fucking rich

4 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

Weird how the rich gained so much starting in 2003 when we went to war. And again in 2020 when Trump cut their taxes.

4 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

Also that there has been an increase for the bottom 50% since Biden became president.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2003 was when real estate prices started increasing, which is why you see it drop drastically after 2008.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But the politicians (in the 2-10%) are being bought by the 1% to keep the other 90% in line.

4 years ago | Likes 120 Dislikes 3

Not keeping us in line. They’re keeping us fighting eachother

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Most politicians aren't don't make the top 10% actually. Like many things to do with wealth in the US ideological adherence by people

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

who don't personally benefit is a major factor.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In many cases, via the police and courthouse.

Slave owners will always need loyal slave drivers...

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This may be one of the profound and succinct comments I've ever seen on here.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wealth distribution is an age old issue. Maths should be able to demonstrate a fair model, then invent/use the tech for that system.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Except the people at the top would then immediately do everything in their power to squash it. Like pitting the people against each other...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thieves usually aren't smart enough. Imagine a tech that was unstoppable and could not be decrypted. No profits takes time to spread though
