Me: I'm depressed. Mom: don't be! Me: oh thanks I never looked at it that way! Now I'm gonna go be aspiring in my room. Totally not crying.

That's awful I'm sorry. I'm so concerned about my kids mental health because of my issues. They know they can always come to me for help.

It's funny see this post.. And then seeing it on Facebook... And then seeing it again reposted after seeing it on Facebook.

Getting hard to pay bills or buy food to eat? Just stop being poor!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

YES

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When people say "don't be anxious" your depression goes away too? Cool.

Good Charlotte and My Chemical Romance aren't even popular anymore why is all this emo shit still so popular?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sending positive vibes!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol, this one is like the herpes of facebook! Positive vibes, what the hell is that anyway?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Have you tried just going outside and doing things?" OH! What a great idea, I'll just jump up and do that right away. Thanks!

So....go somewhere and be uncomfortable and miserable or stay in and be comfortable and miserable.... i think I'll stay in, thanks.

Shieeet the truth hurts

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes! Precisely this.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

That's what I've started doing to treat mine, just gotta deal with getting anxious while doing things.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It has been helping, I try to at least go in the sun once a day. Though I've not done that today. Just a change of environment can help tbh

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Beg trying that for the last 6 years, working jobs to force me to deal with it. I have seen no improvement. :c

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh man, I hadn't thought of that! Another tip is to think "what have I got to be sad about? Other people have it worse" 100% cure rate.

10 years ago | Likes 116 Dislikes 2

Just think of something nice!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Just relax" Oh thank you, I hadn't thought of that

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Just let it go!" Well golly-gee-wilikers! That's all I needed!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's like "Finish your food; there are starving kids in Africa."

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I don't like Finnish food though

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Then send it to them" was the response. "Go to your room, then" followed. It wasn't until year later that the 3 inch pile>>>

of dried liver, scallops and toast was discovered behind the fridge. Revenge.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

On the other hand, crapping on people trying to cheer you up isn't something to be praised.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

I've said it doesn't help, and then was told I'm not trying hard enough or I don't want to be happy by multiple family members

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I'm depressed and you're some kind of HUGE ASSHOLE for trying to fix that. Instead of giving you feedback I'm just going to be sullen..."

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Some people see depression as someone going through the same problems as them but being too weak or lazy

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Telling someone not to feel what they're feeling isn't really.. cheering.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's not even trying to approach the person or problem like they care, its just trying to get an uncomfortable situation to go away

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Precisely "Just stop feeling this way" isn't a solution, they know that, they want you to stop acting that way so you stop being difficult.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes, they typically mean well

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean I probably am an asshole for this, but I HATE unsolicited advice. If I didn't ask for your advice don't just pop up and give (1/2)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

it to me. I don't go up to people and tell them how to lose 10lbs etc. It's unnecessary. Let me fail on my own.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I honestly hate those people, they never stop to think, it's not their fucking business.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Those people that think they're a fucking superhero for telling a random stranger they are unhealthy and shaming them is helping them out

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

In all seriousness, the best therapy I've found for my anxiety is crocheting.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Fuck yes!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I always read that word as "crotch it ing"

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

For my depression it is knitting, or origami.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fucking love origami

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Basically, anything that keeps your hands busy. On a side note, it's helping me quit smoking, too lol

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine is excel spreadsheets.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seriously? How does it calm you?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I concentrate on a "complex" problem, it distracts me from panicking and it stops any bad thoughts I have. I'm too ham-fisted to crochet.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I see. Like focusing on the logic of the problem, instead of the emotions behind the anxiety. That makes sense.
