Science teacher in HS told us about a time in college, professor was teaching a freshman class and said anything they could got on an 1/
8*11 sheet could be used on the test. Day of the test one student came in with a blank sheet and laid it on the floor by his desk, 2/
In walked a graduate student that stood on the paper. Professor allowed it because of his wording but changed it for the following class 3/3

I saw another version of this where the person failed at making a Möbius strip correctly.

Escher would be proud.
Cheers for this reply, I never connected the weird staircase art and maths until I researched Escher!
I'm glad you're a fan. I love his work, drew a whole box of blank playing cards inspired by him

They would get naked by putting on more clothes.
Haha every time they take off half their clothing? They will excite you quickly but never get fully naked!

It's a Möbius Strip. A surface with only 1 side and 1 boundary.
HOW!?

prett sure with as spaced out as the notes are they could have just used one side of the paper.
MrPredator
That's why you learn to write as tiny as possible. Made stat class so much easier when I could use notes.

The point of twisting a paper like that is so that both sides of the paper get used in machinery belts so it wears down both sides.

E&M prof allowed a 3x5 card for the final. I hand wrote so tiny you could barely read, but every formula was on there. He stopped at my desk

My Cisco professor was a practical kinda guy, very job-minded. I wrote scripts with AHK that typed up common multi-command functions 1/2

The "art" of writing it all down is wonderful for visualizing the equations when you need them; the card becomes less relevant.

I once sharpened a mechanical pencil with very high grit sand paper. It took all night to write out the card, but it worked!

My last 'make your own formula sheet' course gave us both sides of an 8.5"x11" sheet. I used maybe the top two inches of the first side. 1/2
In pretty big writing too. My prof reacted in a similar manner. 2/2

For my heat transfer final, we were allowed 3 pages of notes. Ended up using one side of one sheet, used it maybe once. Got a 92.

Its the time you spent creating it that cements it to memory, at least that's what it does for me
LittleElectronicAlfreds
Yup. My physics prof allowed one sheet of formulas. Said he found most make it in conjunction with the study guide he gave, and students 1/2
rarely used the cheat sheet, only as a self-check or b/c of a brain fart. Didn't want students to fail due to forgetfulness of a formula
SlightlyRelatedToThePost
I was once asked to give a speech using only one 3x5, I managed to condense my notes into a form of hieroglyphics glossing over topics.
I was able to run 15 mins of not-memorized speech by going back and over my symbols.
Do you still have those? Please post scans of them.

In high school a teacher slowed one 3x5 index card so a student peeled off one side to give him 4 surfaces to write on. Teacher allowed it.
