Started with some leftover cedar 1x2 strips I made from the leftovers of a fence project this past summer.

Soldered some U-channel aluminum with a torch and some aluminum rods on some saw horses.

And just started from there. Drilled countersink holes for some black Robertson screws I had laying around. They were shiny, not drywall screws

And here it is all put together.

I used some exterior gate hinges to hold it up. I ripped 2 holes in the drywall to put solid blocking between the studs to hold these.

And from the top.

I expanded a piece of pex-A tubing and covered it with some black heat shrink to get a toilet escutcheon to fit centered on the hinge. I like it anyway.

The door gets held shut with a simple neodymium magnet I added. I added blocking and a layered piece of mdf to stop the gate.

And it keeps the stupid cats out.
