Golf Club along my jogging route went bankrupt, fire department used it for practice. I'll have to see if anything remains to explore.
FP Edit: To give a little context, the building was set on fire once (around Tuesday) but the fire department had to stop for weather. I took my original pic while jogging in the area (On Wednesday), and it was finally turned into a complete inferno on Thursday.

Firmer fire fighter here, please don't go digging around in the remains. Incredibly dangerous and they don't want to have to rescue you.

A damn shame. Could've been an awesome evil palace

What a great use of resources!

If you're going back in as you say, please wear a face mask. Even after a fire, there may be toxins in the air. Be safe!
fr1080f
I thought they were trying to claim insurance money.
sanpingy
Holy crap! I grew up near that gold course... gleneagle, in CO Springs.
Ellkyi
The fire department took the blame.. Bailed out was the gimmick.. Destruction of evidence was the intent.. There is a human factor involved.
uman42
The sun reflection on your window really looks like your neighbor'sayin house is on fire!

When a club for rich people goes bankrupt, times are tough
mrkosmoo2
Colorado Springs??
Soufange
TF you mean "stop for weather?" That's not how real fires work. Unless it's rain anyway
bolharr2250
It was a practice exersize. Lightning was in the area, so they postponed it. Put out the fire and set it ablaze again a few days later.
Soufange
Ah, lightning makes more sense.
WhatzitTooya
I'd would have guessed Insurance fraud or heavy-handed hobos with a jerry can.
BugEyedLemur
Or, and this may sound crazy, they could've repurposed it.
Ximinipot
Something's fucky. You set this on fire, didn't you? Why else would you have a before picture?
BladesTonight
I'm more suspicious of the "jogging" route.
ElonMusksEvilTwin
Hmm...
rainmakerab
Look how many times @OP was there , totally guilty. Didn't even try to stop the fire department, highly suspicious.

It was burned 2 times, I visited in between the two fires.http://www.kktv.com/video?vid=427340203
everythingisalieexceptthestuffthatisnt
Or were you returning to the scene of the crime? Hmmmm?
bolharr2250
My lawyer is motioning me to stop talking, so I'm assuming I'm not supposed to confirm or deny your suspicions.

Thought it was a case of Jewish lightning for a second...
heymynamesterrylikethecloth
What is "Jewish lightening"?
HitlerWasAPeoplePerson
To set your house or business on fire on purpose to get the insurance money.
Sjp770
Kinda doubt it was used for practice. They usually have controlled environments for practice - more likely an insurance job or a vandal.
DeathMetalEnthusiast
A long while back the old super 8 hotel was donated to the fire department. The fire department used it for practice
R1200GS
CONFIRMED: So many empty military houses on old Kinross (MI) Air Base, used to burn them for practice. Permission from gov first, of course.
Snooj
No, it happens a lot. FD gets practice in an unfamiliar environment, building slated for demo gets removed. Win/Win
Sjp770
Wonder is any Aussies can weigh in. I would imagine most cases being denied for environmental protection over here
GrundleFondler
Oh we do that all the time with old cars/ houses that would be wrecked anyway afterwards- you can't simulate a whole building on fire...
bolharr2250
I get your skeptisim (it is the internet) but here yah go. http://www.kktv.com/video?vid=427340203
Sjp770
Thanks for the follow-up. Training for fires in new buildings.. and it was extensively vandalised, hence worth nothing. Cool.
TimmehCaster
Woah, someone on the internet providing reliable sources?!
Anfalicious
When I was young the local fire department piled up some old cars we had lying around the paddock and set them on fire to practice.
bolharr2250
They actually had the stop the first time they did it, because of weather. My pic is in between the first and second burning.
CongratsYouAreHereNow
dude what in the fuck. i would have bought that for 18 dollars
LaFudge
I don't get out of bed for anything less then 19. -golf course probably.
bolharr2250
Pretty sure the government seized the property or something. Their trying to build houses on the old course
WorkerLurker
They're, a conjunction of they are. Their, a possessive noun or pronoun. There, a place.
mt77932
Well there it is.
WadesFargo
If you're wanting to be technical, the word "their" doesn't function as a noun or pronoun. It's acts as a determiner.
WorkerLurker
I never got to more advanced English
everythingisalieexceptthestuffthatisnt
Does it count as an adjective?
WadesFargo
Yes a determiner is a type of adjective
fistermatic5000
You obviously knew what the hell he meant. I don't get this pedantic shit.
WorkerLurker
It's because we care. The small things build the larger things. If you don't apply yourself small, you won't have built for the large.
bbrodriguez147
Man that's some bullshit, when the fore department sets something on fire it's "practice", but when I do it it's "arson"
Snooj
It's funny because you said "fore" and this was a golf course.
Thatoneguythatdoesthatthingy
"I meant to do that" -OP
rainmakerab
Guy nearish here got a job in the Fire Department, so he set a crap load of fires no one said shit for years
everythingisalieexceptthestuffthatisnt
Guy Nearish sounds like a dick
rainmakerab
Ya, his best friend was Major Damage,
everythingisalieexceptthestuffthatisnt
