During a fire in a tent for children in the Khabarovsk Territory, 11-year-old Alexei Martynenko was not capable of anything at all, he remained at the scene of the fire and saved other children from the fire. Unfortunately, but Alexei died from burns in the hospital, but thanks to him, many others survived. Residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur created a petition with a request to posthumously award Alexei the title of Hero of Russia. The authorities of the Khabarovsk Territory supported the petition for posthumous state awards. It is unfortunate that those who deserve to live are leaving. The true hero of our time.

Yeah ok is sad, but why you post something like this in a network where everybody post meme and laughing video?

You can't know someone's a hero until they are tested. And many tests involve them dying.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Heroes are forged in fire. This time it was literal.

RIP sweet brave boy

Rest in peace little one. Your heroism will be remembered by those you have saved and those who will never know you.

Those who deserve to live are leaving. Well said. So sad so true. Thanks little guy so much.

A LOT of heart for an 11yr old. Would have liked to meet him as a man, but that wasn't to be. He WILL be remembered.

7 years ago | Likes 145 Dislikes 6

I think he was more of a man than many ever get to be, no matter the age.

Well put.

Amazing you man

Born in 2008. So recent. I’m sad to say that’s a short life for such a good soul.

"not capable of anything at all" thought he was disabled or couldn't move. looked the boy up, he rushed in and helped save others

7 years ago | Likes 829 Dislikes 4

my thought was maybe "culpable"? meaning he didn't start the fire

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

That confused me at first too.

7 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

Guessing he means 'not responsible for anything'.

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

I believe OP means not qualified as a fire fighter, EMT, or other emergency personnel.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks. I was wtf?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What did that mean for context of the story?

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

He was a child and wouldn't be expected to help fight the fire or maybe help anything

7 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I think OP means "couldn't help himself" there. Probably russian native language and unlucky translation

You soil the memory of someone seen as a hero with your dumbass political statement. For what? Likes? So you can seem tough? Disrespectful.

Wouldn't the 'True Hero' be the one who convicted the government connected guy of selling flammable tents for kids? Yeah, Russia...

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

All tents are flammable

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

? All tents sold in the US must be flame retardant. Even my 'Asbestos' tent is treated...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its not fireproof though. It will still burn and probably pretty easily.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You do know what 'Flame retardant' means, right?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1)Yes. It means its treated to burn slower than it would without being treated. But the stuff used to make tents is pretty flammable anyway

Americans shouldn't speak about corporations corrupting the government....

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh no, my house was robbed, I no longer have the right to comment about anyone else getting robbed!...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I also like how they just assumed you were American.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

A tent for children? What is that exactly?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The description makes for hard reading

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's a little tent.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apparently it happened at a summer camp in July, four other kids died. Guessing a large tent collapsed, tangling them in burning fabric.
