Sounds like my head board when I have sex...well, this video lasted a bit longer, but yeah

That’s some good chopping boy

As a super taster, eating red onion, especially raw, is an experience not too dissimilar from being forced mouth first into the battery acid and foot odor factory.

Why did I just spend 58 seconds of my life watching someone dice an onion?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*watches as users scramble to save this so they can use it when an emotional post makes people ask "who's cutting onions in here?"*

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This dices the onion

Just put it in a blender?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i need to sharpen my knife

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

More like, we need a $1000 knife and three weeks in chef school

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's amazing how much just sharpening your knives can do. After all, a sharp knife is safer than a dull knife.

Fine, but not technically correct.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

How is that not correct? If you mean they didn't do the cuts horizontally, not every chef agrees that's necessary.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The trick to not crying when you cut up onions is to not form an emotional bond with the onions ahead of time, same thing works for humans too.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Mine always sticks to the knife no matter how much I sharpen and hone it

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

No match for Captain milk.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whenever I tried this, the slices get stuck to the knife and they get out of the pile.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Just use a mandolin slicer if you want nice thin and even onion slices.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

the claw

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Needs to start w/ horizontal cuts there are definitely larger prices on on the sides, & the finger nails bothered me

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Agreed. If you cut towards the center of the onion, you can get a dice that is even on length, width, and depth.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I might need a video to understand this

I wish my knife were this sharp

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Indeed, got 2 knife sharpening sets and it's nice but then I have uber cheap knives made of steel that doesn't want to take an edge >>

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know it's not an option for all but if you cook regularly it's time to invest in good knives. Don't have to be professional chef level expensive but 2-3 good knives can be bought for 100-150 and if treated properly will last you years if not decades.

Is someone cutting onions in here?😭

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I've heard that people these days eat the onianus

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

people also wash their meat, and often use bleach, people are weird.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

I've done this technique, it's wonderful. But I simply do not have this level of mastery

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

alot of it is the knife, if that thing's not razor sharp it'll catch and mess things up.

My eyes watered watching this!
Damn that’s fine video.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Ok serious question here. Am I wierd if I don't know what you are talking about and my eyes have never watered chopping onions

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Got. Damn.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The trick to prevent this is to have a very sharp knife. Most of the crying comes from too blunt knifes rather squashing than cutting the onion, releasing far more gases with cause the tears.

Since i've done that i hardly have tears when chopping onions.

It's on your hands! You're making it worse!

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Two things: You need a really fresh, crisp onion to get it as fine as this, otherwise it'll stick and snag as you slice. Also - it makes little difference to most recipes to cut an onion so finely.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thin slices are best for pickling, which I do a fair bit. But it's much easier to just use a mandolin.
