He was a great little mate to our son, when he was still crawling
They'd hang out together
Biggles had the absolute best temperament to be around a toddler and never winced or bit our son when he'd grab his ears
Loved chilling on the couch
When we lived in Brisbane, we would often shave him to keep him cool
Those cute eyes. He was never far away, always managed to get under our feet
Loved his cuddles
Chilling on the couch with the missus
Travelling south for Christmas, he would find a comfy spot next to our son
We never knew just how old you were; you were a rescue from a family who couldn't look after you. You came into our house and brought with you a playful, caring nature. You were also inquisitive and kept finding new ways to escape so you could make friends at the park, only for the Vet to call us up and let us know you were safe.
Old age finally caught up with you though and in the end, your eyes, ears, hips, bowels and brain had declined so much that all joy and vigor had left you. All I could do was hold you and tell you that you were a good boy; right until the last moment when the Vet gave you the green dream.
It's cruel, that we should outlive our pets. That they're only with us for a brief flicker of time. Each one of them leaves an indelible mark on our hearts, never to be forgotten.
RIP Biggles.

If dogs outlived us, they'd have to watch us go. They don't deserve that. RIP Biggles.
